Title: what store do you usually buy your groceries, or find the best deals?
Post by: colbtrist on June 03, 2016, 11:26:53 am
What store do you find the best grocery shopping deals? I really like Kroger and Aldi, I find a lot of deal at both of these places. Walmart is good sometimes.

I mostly shop at Meijer or Kroger. When I get veggies or fruit at Walmart it doesn't seem to last.

I find it best to make a list, clip my favorite FC Coupons, then head out to Walmart, Payless, Marsh, Kroger or where ever I can save the most money. I love the FC Coupons because I feel like when I spend my money I make a little of it back to no matter if it is $0.10 a coupon or not. I love saving money.  :) :) :) :) :)

I like Aldi for some things and other times I mostly shop Food Lion or Walmart for the best deals. I shop at a variety of grocery stores, it depends on what I am shopping for some offer much better deals on certain items so it depends what's on my shopping list.

Well we really don't have a choice here in our small town. Went to the store to day and  only bought a few items  and it cost me over $30.00. If i had bought it at Walmart it would have been almost half. But i could not see driving 60 miles just for a few items. so when i do my major shopping i either go to Sam's club or Walmart. Sam's is 120 miles away but when i want certain items  in bulk i go there. Then try to finish up at Walmart there instead of going to another area.  The worst drawbacks to living in a rural town besides having to travel a long distance to doctors and when i have too i also go shopping .

Definitely Wal-Mart. Strangely enough, when I was younger, I tended to stay away from Wal-Mart, and was more preferential to local supermarkets (such as Pathmark in DownState New York). Since moving Upstate, however, I have increasingly gone to WalMart from most of my shopping (grocery and clothing) needs.

I usually get mine from Walmart Supercenter.  The prices aren't that bad and what's higher I get back on my savings catcher thing so I end up getting the money back.

I work at walmart and do most of my groceries there.  But if I have 50 cents coupons I go to Krogers, they double their coupons 50 cents and under and you can get a lot more.  Hope everyone has had a good day and may God bless  each of you and keep you safe. :D

Luckily there are numerous grocery stores in my area so I check the weekly ad that come every week and make a list and head out to all of the if the price is right.  So that would be Jewel, Fairplay, Food 4 less, Ultra, Berkots (best meat and butcher) and Aldi

I like shopping at Walmart. They seem to have the lowest lines. I just hate how far it is from my house

Since I work for Kroger it's a no brainer I like shopping there.  Gotta support the cause ya know.  But before I worked there I hardly ever went in.  I only shopped the sales ad.  Aldi - hands down is my go to.  Being in Kroger (nearly every day now) I shop the sales ad but also catch great manager special deals regularly.

Right now I am doing most of my shopping at Krogers (Ralphs and Food 4 Less) because I am a secret shopper and that is the prgram I am working on right now.   I also have a few Smart & Final, Whole Foods and Pavillions.  I can use coupons and have a dollar amount that I am reimbursed for each store, so I have not paid for groceries in about 4 years.

It varies greatly for us.  Yes, even though I don't like to, we shop at the local Walmart Neighborhood store.  It's new and only about a mile from our house.   Prices are great.   We also have Bi-lo, Ingles and Publix all within reasonable distance from home.  So naturally I go through weekly ads, do the digital coupons, etc and go to wherever I can get the best price.  It's one of the advantages of being retired, I have the time to do whatever it takes to save on groceries.    I also regularly use our local farmers market.   We also have a great produce place where we can get the best buys on some great stuff.   I consider us pretty lucky when it comes to choices.

Walmart and JCPenney have excellent sales. Look for the "Clearance" racks.  For groceries, I look for special sales. Today, it is Senior's Day at my local store. I am going shopping to save even more.

I do most of my grocery shopping at Kroger. I love their online coupons that you can load to your card. I also like the free friday deal they have where you can download a coupon for something free. Plus I get money off my gas each month for using my Kroger Plus card.

I shop at Kroger/Smiths here in Utah.  The store is only 2 blocks from my homes so I usually walk.  I like to research coupons - hard copy coupons and e-coupons before I set out for my shopping adventure.  I also use a Kroger credit card so I get cash back for using it to spend in the store.

We all need to make financially intelligent decisions; regardless, of what we shop for.

I like to buy my meats at Bo's or Piggly Wiggly, they have the best prices and variety in that area. But I have a Food Lion closest to my house so I go there for everything else.  Also sometimes I hit up Walmart for a change.

We have three stores in our town to buy food - walmart which I am not shopping at for food, winn dixie which I also do not shop at and Publix where I do all my shopping.  People tend to think they are more expensive but they aren't they have lots of bogo, they are clean and they have people to help you which I need due to handicaps.

I get most of my deals at Walmart, because I stack coupons and Ibotta rebates, and Ibotta offers the most rebates for Walmart.

It's a toss between Walmart and the regional grocery store, Hy-Vee. A year ago I'd have said only Walmart since we have a Supercenter a couple of miles away whereas the other stores were a further distance. However, they just opened up a new Hy-Vee store that is also very close to where I live. Aside from better food choices, Hy-Vee also has a gas card with which customers can get cents off per gallon of gas when purchasing certain items. Lately I had such great deals using the gas card alone... A couple of weeks ago I went shopping with my girlfriend (who also has her own card); the next time we got gas, I was paying only 19-cents per gallon and my GF paid $0.009 per gallon (so she filled her 20-gallon tank for about what I paid for 1 gallon that day). When you couple the gas card deals with coupons, you can get very good deals indeed.

We do our food shopping at 4 stores: Costco, BJ's, Shop-Rite and a local farmer's market. We get the veggies and fruits at the farmer's market, fresh deli sliced meat and cheese at the Shop-Rite, hot rotisserie chickens at BJ's and anything we need a lot of, like paper goods (napkins, paper towlels, Kleenex, etc) at Costco.
