when it comes to swimming i prefer the pool i like the beach but they are always so crowed and i hate when people walk pass you and they kick sand at you it pisses me off plus i hate the way you feel when swimming in the salt water my hair gets real nasty and you have sand everywhere

I'd have to say the beach !

I prefer the beach. I get so uncomfortable about pools, because sometimes people get lazy and don't get out to potty.

I love the beach

I prefer the beach to pools because I like the sound of waves and the warmth of sand in the sun. Plus it is much less crowded than our local town pool.

Both are great for various reasons. If you want to get away for a while, then definitely the beach. If you just want a couple of hours of fun, then the pool works well.

I love the beach.

If I am going to swim it is definitely going to be in a pool. I do like to go view the ocean it is so beautiful but I am not going to go in the water.
-
I live the ocean and the beach. I'd pick being there in a heartbeat. But it is so far away :(

most definitely the beach...more relaxing

I prefer the beach...but I do not swim at the beach because all the dangerous animals in the water: sharks, sting rays, killer whales, jelly fish and many more. For swimming, I use the swimming pools because they are safer than other bodies of water.

I much prefer the beach. Everything that people usually hate about it, I love. The sea, the sand, the salty air, the smells, the sights, the sounds. This is probably the only place on Earth I truly ever relax.

I prefer neither...

Definitely the beaches fresh ocean air!

I've never been to the beach myself. Nevertheless a pool sounds more appealing to swim in for me. I would like to see the ocean at some point. Not to mention I don't tan, I go straight to burn.

I hate the beach, unless I'm taking a moon-lit walk on it with my significant other. I'd take a pool any day of the week. I feel like a private pool is safer and cleaner than the beach. I have seen so many nasty things floating in the water at the beach, and that was enough for me to say "NO THANKS"! Plus, I hate the sand and how it sticks to you and gets all over the place.

I have always favored a pool over the ocean and what might be lurking under the waves there. Shows like River Monsters confirm my fears that yes, fish do bite and sometimes kill their human pray! I don't have that fear when swimming in a pool although a kid doing a cannon ball almost landed on my back once after which I sternly told him to watch out. Mostly though, a pool is safer and less polluted than the beach.

I prefer to swim in a pool because beach water can have harmful chemicals. I once got a water borne sinus infection after I swam at the beach after rain.
-
I think if I just had one day I would choose the beach especially if it was not a far drive and I could spend the day relaxing. But the beach is something where you need to prepare. To just cool off after a long day, I prefer the pool.

I don't live near a beach, so it would have to be a pool. We do have a few lakes, but they really don't have beaches.

I like swimming in a pl and playing volleyball on a beach

growing up spent our summers at the beach, also like the pool
