I can't believe how much certain items are nowadays. For instance a big bag of peanut m & m's are almost $4 and the same with Oreos, almost $5 in certain stores.
-
Well, not that high here in Georgia, but I don't buy to much candy, but food is expensive here.
-
it's very expensive here in ny. i just can't believe it
-
Crazy how much stuff cost these days!
-
I know, I remember when I was a kid (which wasn't even that long ago) candy/food was cheaper than it is now. It's outrageous that a vegan chocolate bar is $2.89 at Martin's. It especially bothers me that a good pint of vegan ice cream can be as much as $6! One pint! :bad:

yeah i can't believe that food is so expensive its getting to a point were i have to choose between food and rent

i bought a package of cookies and my daughters kids went crazy they hadnt had cookies or candy for a while. things are getting to high, too expensive. i wish i could afford to help them out but we are on a set income.now

Yes,i think they raised the price of a candy bar to 1.39.Rolls are 4.59 for 6 my son bought those I was very annoyed that he bought them.I always try to get the lowest price.Cereal is also high but with cpns is better and get the ones on sale.Won't even mention meat. I shop at Lucky so they are having a 10% off cpn every week that helps.

Funny how when you don't include items such as food and gas into calculations, you can show that we are living in very low inflationary period... Goes to show what games politicians play so that they can say the opposite of what the populous is seeing without actually lying!
-
I agree food is expensive especially depending n where you live
-
Inflation is out of control. A can of Campbell's Chicken Noodle soup is $1.49 in my area and rising.
-
all food is expensive anymore. especially the name brand things. Your buying the name,,, by off brand,,, most of it is just as good. add a little more spices to it and it tastes the same. That is what I do :)
-
It's out of control. A trip to the supermarket doesn't get you as much as it used to unless you are willing to pay a lot for it.
-
I hate going to the store here, because it is so costly here and the veggies are second rate. I only buy just what i need here no more no less. I make most of our sweets, sometimes bread or pies. But even flour is getting so expensive compared to what the farmers are paid for the wheat or oats. If it was not for the middlemen it would be cheaper.
-
I agree, sometimes I'm shocked at the prices. I'm always checking for coupons and comparing prices.
-
Food prices are definitely out of control. I've started using store brands more instead of name brands.
-
Same here, I'm only in my 20s and overall food prices have risen dramatically in the span I can remember. I think when we are kids just old enough to get a grasp of what stuff costs, that is what we remember forever and future prices sound increasingly outrageous.

The prices on "regular" grocery items recently took as much as a .25 cent hike in one store here, their prices are now a little hard to accept....some items I'll buy elsewhere as they were over-priced at their "old" price. Still...nothing shocks me as much as seeing the prices on the "healthier items". Sugar-free (or reduced sugar) items cost so much, it's no wonder average Americans consume too much sugar! Sugar is in everything but the sugar-laden items are a third of the cost, of items without it!
