Post by: Dvessella1983 on September 03, 2016, 12:40:22 pm
Let your voices be heard Fusion Cash members

What do you think of Gas Prices where you live?

Are they too high, to low, average or just good enough?

It's been going up a bit over here in NJ but starting to level off again. Hopefully it will lower some more.

In Upstate New York, the gasoline prices were absolutely atrocious (at least in the months leading to me leaving the state). Prior to that, the prices were steadily decreasing. Where I live currently, the prices are probably on par with Upstate New York, if not higher. Ugh! I am seriously thinking of moving to Texas now.

This last week I heard that OPEC has voted to decrease production for the first time in a while.  That means the supply will decrease and if demand remains stable or goes up, prices will go higher.
For quite a while now, Michigan gas prices have not been bad at all.  Hopefully, gas prices will not start spiraling higher.

The prices around my area actually seem pretty reasonable compared to some of the national prices. I think its like 2.30 or something like that. Of course I miss the days of .99 per gallon but then when it was as high as $4.00 per gallon I almost had a heart attack. I would walk everywhere! ;D

It depends on where you are I suppose. I don't think I'll ever be quoted saying they are too low. Where I live I can expect to pay $2.30 per gallon. Personally, I think that is a lot. But I can drive to a city an hour from me and it is a more reasonable $1.80 per gallon.

I live in the state with the highest in the nation with gas taxes. We pay $.505 per gallon state taxes. Add the $.184 federal tax. That's 1/10th of a cent less than $.689.  Those of us stuck in the middle of the state have no alternative, where those around the "edges" can always go to the next state if they have lower prices.

Don't affect me too much since I ride a motorcycle, yes all year round, so I save a lot no matter what the price is  :highfive:  8)

I'm still trying to figure out how each gas station sets its prices. For example, one place can be $2.23 but the one next to that is $2.29. Further down the road it's $2.44. On the highway the difference is staggering usually between 30-40¢. It's just mind-boggling.

If you don’t live in CA, then nobody should complain about the cost of gas. Our gas prices will always be higher than anyone currently at $2.99 Regular Unleaded.  :BangHead:

One can assume gas prices nearby the freeway entrance and exits tend to be a bit more costly because motorists are more likely go there whenever they need to pump gas. Those locations are more visible and convenient to head to first. They don’t have to drive too far to locate a gas station.

I notice gas prices a lot more now than in the past. I am not sure of the reason that gas station around me seems to drop and raise the prices every other day. I drive a lot less now than in the past and it makes me feel good due to environmental concerns and also budget wise.

Well the cheap gas is down to levels I haven't seen in ten years. Premium gas is too much for me. $2/gal for 89 octane and then I dump fuel injector cleaner and gas treatment in there. The car runs better on 89 octane with my additives than it does on 93 octane with nothing added. It comes out way cheaper in the long run. I can pay 6 bucks for a bottle of mystery oil and gas and it last 2 months.

I just filled up today and paid $1.99 that is the lowest it has been in awhile around here & I am happy about it. I know it will not last long though.

I rarely use my vehicle other than for work purposes. In fact, I only fill my tank once per week. However, that does not change the fact that gasoline prices are pretty high...and I use regular gasoline.

They don't matter to me. I wouldn't like having to drive all the way anywhere. I would park a car farther away and walk the rest of the way when I would feel energetic enough and the weather is nice. Many people are too lazy to consider that, and that bothers me because that can mean more pollution and not enough exercise.

Gas prices always go up in the summer time. They are not bad right now but they have gone several times over the last few weeks. I hope they don't go up much more. When gas prices begin to steadily rise then all other prices start to rise. :rose: :rainbow: :peace:

Still too high.  Gas prices need to go down more.

Ours recently went up by 5 cents, but is still under $2.50 a gallon for regular, so I'm OK with that. Do NOT want to see it go to almost $4 again like it did a few years ago. That was way too high!

That's one reason I would prefer to park a car farther away from where I go instead of anywhere around the place.
