Yes - Never throw away old (but still good) clothes or toys. It's very easy to find someone who needs them.

I always give clothes etc. to amvets/salvation army every year. I give clothes that are still in good shape.

More often than I can count, from money to clothes to cars, to service and much more, but I have already been repaid many times over.

I used to work in a homeless soup kitchen, now I grocery shop for an elderly lady who is not able to.

I have. I try to picture myself in the person's situation and it gives me a better idea of how even a small good deed can help someone that really needs it. I will not go into detail about the things that I have done to help others but the one person that really knows and is the most important is GOD. I do those/these things in His name. :notworthy:

I have done many things for people that were less fortunate than myself. I have even taken young children into my home that were in the streets and helped them finish school or get a job to help themselves. I have brought people home to feed them when I saw that they were hungry. I know you may think that I am crazy but we help where we can. That is what God wants us to do.

Trop8cana, we need more people like you who offer such practical, hands-on charity. May God bless you and your family. As for me, my husband and I often help out our homeless handyman with money, food, and household goods. Unfortunately, he is also mentally ill, alcoholic, and takes some sort of drug, so we can't let him sleep at our house. There are shelters in our city, but he will not use them. I have given him info about county services and mentioned twelve-step programs, but he doesn't seem receptive yet. He is a very good, hard-working man despite these problems.

My father-in-law worked at a car wash and everytime he cleans out the vaccums, he finds money. Well, he will save up the change for a year, then call me to clean, seperate and cash in the change. We would then find someone or many who need help and I will drive them to the grocery store or consignment shop to buy what they need. I've even have had some that I grew close to and brought them to my house, (after knowing and being around them daily for about a year) for a shower and home cooked meal or took them out to eat. Last year we found $326 in change and really made some's day.

I'm still in high school so I am a member of my school National Honor Society. It is a group based on charity work and academics. Last year we fund-raised about $7,000 for St. Jude.

When I come across a situation I try to help when possible, if its giving food or a little money, or offering a ride nearby, I do what I can.
