we did it today it looks so bare when you take every thing down but i know i can't leave it up all year round
-
We took it down on new years day. it was quiet, and I was waiting for the games to start so I took care of it. it is a tradition yearly :)
-
Most of it is gone
-
I feel the same way, I started yesterday.
-
My husband did it while I was at work yesterday. The only thing he left up are the snowman towels in the bathroom. Yes the house is certainly bare. I'm now reminded of the bench in my Mom's basement I've been needing to bring back to the house.... It's a filler for that bare wall where the tree was.

All Christmas decorations are put away for the year, except for lights outside on the eaves. It will have to warm up a bit before I tackle taking those down. We are having windchill advisories so those lights can stay put!!
-
We take everything down the day after Christmas.
-
I know what you mean! We took our things down a couple of days ago and it looks so empty now lol
-
Did ours on New Year's eve because the weather was warmer and was able to get the outside put also
-
I took everything down the day after Christmas.
-

-
I was sick Christmas and have not had my dinner yet. Going to leave up my tree till I can have my family over. :)
-
I need to bring the wreaths and bows in from the front porch and then I am done.
-
took all my stuff down the day after christmas

Not yet. We still have one family Christmas get-together this weekend. I left the tree up so the gifts would have somewhere to be. I like decorating, but not undecorating.
-
I always do it gradually. I began a day or two before New Years Day. I enjoy it so much and if I do it gradually it takes away the sadness of taking it all down. All inside is boxed up and ready to be put in the attic. A few outside decorations are gone but the lights on the house still have to come down. We don't turn them on anymore but waiting to get the down when our adult son comes to help. My husband isn't in the same good health he was years ago and our son said to just leave them and wait for him, he'll get them down.

Put everything away on the 2nd
-
I take everything down before New Year, I cannot come into the New Year with last year Christmas things up. :bad:
-
I used to leave everything in place when the kids were young until after "Greek Christmas" which is today, the 7th. My in-laws always celebrated that day even though my father-in-law was Ukrainian, so I thought I would keep it going even though we aren't Greek.
Now that everyone is in their 40s, I don't decorate anymore. There's no fun in it. We do have lights outside under the eaves that are left up all year long and are only turned on Christmas Eve and Christmas day.
-
To be honest, no. We have been a little tired and lazy lately.
-
Yes I have and yes you are right it looks bare!
-
I didn't have any decorations up, but I did do my dining room table with Christmas tablecloths etc. I put it away the day after Christmas.
-
I was sick Christmas day and did not get to have my family over. I still have my tree up and planning on having everyone over when I get to feeling better. :)
-
yes we finally got everything down last week. Its been really cold and raining so couldn't get the outdoor stuff down but finally had one day and we scrambled and got it all down. then we worked on the inside the other day and got it all down. I don't mind the inside stuff being up,,, its pretty and I love looking at it. But I guess it all has to come down sometime :)
-
Decorations & tree went up (and then came down the same night).....because I have 4 cats. lol Since then, decorated for a New Years Eve party. Will be decorating for Inauguration party and then after that, it'll be time to decorate for Valentine's Day!! (BIG on decorating & parties this year!!) :)
-
I'm late to the conversation....but yes. We took our tree down on Dec 26th.
-
Yes, all of our holiday stuff is put away for another year.
-
We take everything down New Year's day.
-
We keep up our tree and decorations into the second week if January but now everything is put away.
-
We usually undecorated gradually as well. I like to put away the ornaments and dust the tree. before we put every thing away
-
Our stuff came down on Sunday. We usually leave everything up at least until the Feast of the Epiphany, which I think is on January 6th. Not ALWAYS, but often our tree and decorations stay up until the first or second weekend after the 6th.
-
Yes, I have all the Christmas decorations down, I do keep my snowmen out until March 1st.
-
YES! I can't stand the decorations over staying their welcome!
-
Most of mine is down and stored away but I have left my pencil tree up and put red bows and red apples on it for Valentines day
-
I never decorated in the first place and saved money!
-
I didn't decorate this year, so nothing to take down.
-
At home our decorations went down on the first weekend when we weren't at work.
At work, we kept the tree and all the house decorations up because the house Christmas Party had to be rescheduled until last night. The staff working this weekend get the task of taking down the Christmas decorations.
