Your body is trying to tell you something. Yes, talk to your doctors and watch their reactions to your questions.

I still work and I am 76 years old.  Sometime I am so tired when I have a day off.  That I sleep half the day.  Getting some much needed rest.  I am going to retire for the second time before long.  Hope everyone has a good day and may God bless everyone and keep you safe. :)

It might be the different mess you are on.  It's good you're going to the doctor Monday.  Good luck, hope you feel better soon, you are always in my prayers.

Try buying teas that help you sleep. I just ordered some celestial tea for sleep. I hope it works and I pray you find a way to get a good sleep pattern.

Too much sleep, even though it has negative aspects, is better than too little.

My sleep is never regular in a way.  I mean I go to bed about 12 then my sons make me get up at 9:15 or I would just keep sleeping.  The days they both work I nap for hours.  Don't know if it is due to heart stuff or sleep apnea or both missed in with depression.Oh well. Talk to your Doc maybe he can suggest something to help you out - I hope so.

I wish I could sleep.  I'm a chronic insomniac.

I've slept the past 2 weekends away, but not because I wanted to.  Have been dealing with a cold/sinus infection/bronchitis and no energy for nothing.  Can't wait until this is over.

My husband always tells me when you sleep like that then your body must have needed it.

It's just the changing of the seasons. Our brains rewire sleep patterns depending on the time of year. People are generally more active in the summer and from my experience, with a lot more going on, you sleep deeper, but sleep less hours. That's just me. In the winter, I just want to not move and sleep as much as I can, but usually it's low quality sleep.

I agree with the others that it is good to ask the advice of a doctor about this. But your doctor is probably going to tell you to do anything you can to start staying awake in the daytime and only sleep at night like you used to to get your regular sleep/awake rhythm back. Maybe if you start exercising in the daytime, you will feel more like sleeping at night. You could try running or lifting light weights or such.

I am 76 years old and still working.  When I get a day off I mostly just sleep as much as I can.  I am going to retire for a second time the end of May.  I am giving it up.  Hope everyone has a good day and may God bless each of you and keep you safe. :)

I slept in until 3:00 today because I've been running off of only a few hours a sleep this past week. :\ I can thank finals for that haha.

Love those days I get waken up by my family most of the time so I don't get that most of the time anymore.

Wow...congrats on getting that much sleep! Don't remember the last time I got more than maybe 4 hours at a time. Wouldn't know what to think if I slept more.

Don't feel guilty; your body must've needed that rest.

If you do that regularly it might be a problem, but if it's just the one time, you probably just needed to catch up on some sleep. I think if you could sleep as long as you wanted every single night, you'd eventually catch up and just start naturally waking up at a regular and reasonable time when your body is rested.

Those are the best days. Put on some sleep sounds on Youtube. That stuff is great.

Every now and then I do that too. I guess sometimes you just need a lot of sleep. I don't think it is a bad thing unless you do it all the time.

Your body must have needed it!  I'm ifyen tired in the late afternoon and take a short nap.  I set my alarm and force myself up even though my bed feels so comfy at that time!  I want to be able to sleep at night.

I wish I can get that opportunity to just sleep and rest up. I can only muster up to 4-5 hours of sleep everyday because of my 24/7 job.

I wish I could sleep for 8 hours long. But I think you really need to talk to the DR when you go. That is a lot of sleep at one time.

I  feel for you.  I overdid it myself this weekend.  Took on a major personal project and was not granted the time off I requested.  So I had 3 1/2 hours sleep between completing and delivering this adorable creation to another 8 hr. work shift.  Last night I had a chill in my bones... couldn't shake it... woke up sneezing; got the kids off to school than went back to sleep until my husband woke me up at 11.  Wish he woulda just let me sleep longer.  I'm so beat now... and have to go in for a silly 4 hour shift tonight.

No joking, I love the fact that you consider sleeping until 10 am, sleeping the day away.  I know so many people that consider that they norm on the weekends.  And some that consider it the norm daily.

Hello there! :D :)

Lately I've been sick and I've been feeling very tired. :'( When it's time for me to work I have a very hard time getting up. I'm happy I'm getting back to normal now trying to change my sleep pattern for my new job coming soon.

Best wishes,
