I thought the police were suppose to keep peace and restore order.
I have seen numerous stories in the last year that show just the opposite.
Protests have no results----just more noise.

I think the majority of the police officers are the good guys .. I certainly would not want their job. So many people disrespect them and make it harder for them to do their jobs.

I have to say the few times I've been pulled over by the police they were fair with me, but I was also very respectful to them.

a few bad apples most police are hard workers but todays news is mainly negative

Every one has a price, police are the same as the rest of the people. Just because you have a badge does not make you a good guy. I've seen allot of crooks over the years, and one thing always is the reason "money" . World has just gotten to nuts and you never know any more who to trust. My best friend of 37 years screwed me over money she owed me and has not talked to me because I dared ask for it back.

It all depends. Sometimes they do some messed up stuff. Sometimes police are great people only trying to help.

I support our men and women in blue. Yes sometimes one does something they should not have, but most are good people. The sad thing about all of the crap we see is on the negative side, the media don't show the good they do. And many, many more do good deeds all the time. So many do not respect the law and will push and push until a police officer loses his or her cool and then when they do of course someone is there to take pictures. Media never says why it happened. I for one says Thank God we have them.

I have a brother who is the sheriff in Ga. and he is one of the good guys, he is re-opening cold cases, and doing what the county needs to eliminate crime ridden areas.

Some cops think they are above the law.

There are good and bad out there. Cannot say all of them are like that. :)

Yep, there are good and bad but I believe most are good.

I only had a few that were dumb and kept going on about it.

There are good ones and bad ones just like all people and all jobs. It depends on the individual.

It's all a racket. The police are in on the violence and drugs too.

Some police are good, some are otherwise.

I could not be a cop. I really don't know how they do it. They don't get paid enough for what their job entails.

Unfortunately, this type of work attracts two different types of people. The first type want to help the community and protect others. The second type just want to feel powerful.

Peace and order??? Hmm.... All I have been seeing is a lot of police officer taking advantage of their role and badges and just using and misusing their "power"... no need to use violence on disarmed people... no need to hit a woman if she is not dangerous to you.... no need to hit or mistreat kids or animals...
No wonder that a lot of police officer are not even happy of their job lately... AND no wonder that a lot of people don't like police officers.
Something's very wrong about that. They are supposed to protect us, but ultimately they are human beings and get carried away by anger, rage.... a lot are racist too (and we know that as well...).... so there would be a lot to talk about...
Can we do something about that? I have no clue... :(

They are plenty of good police officers. You just never hear about them.

They don't pay enough to be a Police Officer these days. Just today, 2 police officers were shot. It's really ridiculous.

I know how you feel, I don't really trust them any more. I don't think they are really getting trained well or they are scared of the people. I don't know what's going on with them; OUT OF CONTROL!

I have total respect for the law enforcement community as a whole. As in all walks-of-life, there and the good and the bad. When confronted with emergencies, violence and other extremes, all human beings can make mistakes. The pressure on police officers in this day and age, must be crushing.
