Title: How important is your celll phone?

If I leave my cell phone at home when I leave the house it feels like
I have left my eye glasses or car keys. It is scarey how important
that small computer is. We have the convenience of having a phone
in our pocket or purse that allows us to make calls, access contacts, schedules,
  emails, internet, etc.

I rely on mine to call for help if needed when i drive, funny part is i have only put 2000 miles on my Tahoe in 3 years, since i fell i only go to town to get my stuff done and pick up supplies, 20.00 in the gas tank pretty much lasts me all month.  Its 4 miles to town and I go 2 times a week. I uses to put 2000 miles on my truck in two weeks before.  But the cell phone gives me a sense of security at home and in the truck... but there are days i never touch it !

I use my cell phone a lot especially for work. I tell the new folks I remember a time when we didn't have cell phones. It seemed much easier.

Pretty important.  I use it for a lot of things other than chatting.  And I like knowing I have instant contact if something happens.

I just recently got a new cellphone in the past few months. Before that I was without one for almost 10 years. Honestly, the phone is more for emergencies. Otherwise I just run apps like Swagbucks or FC.

I was without one for 10 years myself...hate talking on any phone let alone a cellphone.
Do go out of town once in awhile and was worried about breakdowns.
Some jobs want you to have some type of cellphone...when you tell them you don't have one, they look at you like your from another planet.
Last week went and got a Tracfone flip cellphone...calls and text...good enough for me.
People are to wrapped up in their cellphones...getting in accidents and bumping into people while shopping...stupid.

I have nothing else to add, you said it all. Cellphones are essential.

I remember maybe 5 phone numbers and don't wear a watch so I tend to keep my phone with me. I like being able to have instant access to everything and I use my phone to make money as well.It's probably different for older generations that didn't grown up with cell phones versus my generation and younger that as always had technology

it's kinda important, just think back in the early 70's or early 80's we couldn't just pick up the phone in the movie theatre or in the park, now cell phones are every where, just pulled it out of a pocket and start talking.

I'm not addicted to it...but if I forget it at home I would absolutely turn back around for it even if it meant I was going to be late where ever I was going haha

I could care less about my cell phone. I would rather not have one. But need it for emergencies or for my kids.

If i leave my phone at home i have turn around and go get it as i need it for my children calling me or emergency situactions.
There so many time i put it down in the house than i can't find it. Thanks to Alexa i just ask her ring my phone and she find it for me. :)

It is scary, and sad for that matter, how important our cell phones have become.  But at the same time, we can't deny it.  If I left it, I would feel naked.  And that's why i would go back and get it!

My cell phone is very important.  I stay at my daughter's house and keep her 18 month old baby boy and she doesn't have a landline, so we have to use our cell phones to communicate.

Most of the time,my cellphone is not that important to me.Some days I don't even use it.I keep it mostly for emergencies,such as car breakdowns,the landline phone going out,etc.

As much as I detest how much people use them even to the point of ignoring the people with them, I like having it for safety and to hear from my kids if I'm out and about. Boy, that was one long sentence! :sweat:

Cell phones are important to stay in contact with loved ones, but when you have toll free numbers coming up on your phone it can be very annoying, don't want to buy anything they selling, or polling. If a number comes up on my phone i don't recognize, I don't answer.

I appreciate the cell phone for the instant access to my family and friends.  I primarily use it to call or text, no banking or shopping.

Honestly I can't live without mine.  It stores everyone's phone numbers, my schedules, appointments, reminders, shopping lists etc.  I literally can't leave home without it.  I use it especially when driving to a place I don't know.  I can always use google maps rather than my father's old way of cramming old maps into the glove compartment.

My smartphones are a fixture for me. I use it constantly and I feel awkward when it's not nearby.  I think this was heightened when it became a critical item for my work, especially when I'm on call.

I relay on my phone for a lot. I use it for everything so it's very important for me to have. It's crazy how much we relay on things like this now a days.

I have been trying for the past few weeks to fight the urge to check social media/emails more than once a day. That stuff really is a waste of time.

I never had a cell phone till about 6 years ago.  Just as soon I got one I needed it to call my son.  My car would not start and he came and jump it off and I follow him to get new battery.  I fill safe when I am out driving by myself.  Hope everyone has a good  day and may God bless each of you and keep you safe. :)

in between semi important and
semi uninportant..
It's important from my day to day..
Getting a hold of people browsing the web..
playing games... here and there
Having it on me when people need to reach me
or to stay in contact with folks
and of course making a few bucks
here and there..
Other than that it's not really important..
I have it on.. it's there...
But i don't need it to survive..

Very important now a days. To make like easier I need my phone. All transactions are always in the phone.

It is important to me because I can keep up with my contacts, email, reminders, and so much more. I used my smartphone way more than chatting.

Every once in a while I will leave my phone somewhere and it feels like a part of me is missing... I wish I didn't rely on it so much. It should not be so important!

My cell phone is very important to me. I would say I keep it near me everywhere I go. It is so nice to have the opportunity to have a phone handy whenever or wherever I may need it.

When I am out, I generally only use it for emergencies, It is good to have but I am not one that stays  on the phone constantly, like I see some people doing, I do not even answer all the calls I get when I am out; they can leave a message especially if i am in heavy traffic and want to  concentrate on the road; only exception I make if call is from my Mother as she is elderly and lives in a different state but generally if I am driving she will  just say to call her when I  get home.

I enjoy my phone because there is a lot I can do on my phone that I can't do with a landline. I can talk to my kids face to face .I can text without talking to someone.I can watch a movie on my netflix account. and I can take a video or picture anywhere I am . I can also make and receive phone calls :)

My cell phone is perhaps one of the most important devices in my life. Especially during times where I am not in close proximity to my laptop, my cell phone is a reliable form of entertainment (and paying my monthly bills).
