I like carpet in my bedrooms but I would like a laminate or ceramic tile throughout the remainder of my home. I just like to squish my toes into carpet when I first get up or am walking about by bedroom. What about you?
-
I prefer hardwood floors because they are easy to clean, especially when you have an animal. I am not a vacuum fan, so hard wood floors with some scattered rugs here and there works for me.
-
have hardwood in my kitchen,,,, carpet in the living room and bedroom. Ready to get rid of the carpet in the living room. I have decided I like hardwood flooring more. easier when you have pets also !!!!!
-
I love hardwood floors. I currently have carpet and I can not wait to move to get away from carpet. The floors are easier to clean and the carpet can cause allergies. I like the way hardwood looks too.
-
I like carpet. You don't have to polish carpet.
-
I have carpet throughout but I like hardwood floors. I had hardwood years ago but having a dog was not good with hardwood floors.
-
I am leaning towards hardwood, we are getting ready to do some remodeling and I think we will go with hardwood.
-
It all depends on how you live. Hardwood is definitely easier to deal with... though true hardwood is VERY expensive.
I would vote against tile in living spaces, except bathrooms & laundry rooms, because it is cold & hard on knees & joints. I just replaced the carpet in the family room this year, chose carpet because it's warmer & the kids still like to be on the floor to watch tv & if they rough house they won't crack there head on a hard floor -- not that this is allowed, but it has been known to happen :/
-
I like both, but the laminated or wood floors seem better for my allegries, although in winter that carpet does feel good on the floors.
-
humm hardwood in kitchen and bathroom,,,carpet every where else
-
I like both hardwood and carpet, but I think I'd rather have nice hardwood with nice deco throw rugs.
-
Hardwood definitely. I don't think you can ever get carpet clean enough.
-
I like hardwood but it get slippery for me to walk on so I have hardwood in the dining room carpet is in the other rooms except bathroom and kitchen :rainbow: :rose: :peace:
-
I like carpet in all bedrooms, but have it also in the living room, linoleum in the kitchen and bathroom.
-
I like both depending on the room it is in. Carpet is better for bedrooms, tile is better for a kitchen; hardwood looks much nicer for some rooms; but I cannot stand very long in bare feet on a hard surface - makes my feet and ankles ache. So I need a carpeted room to retreat to!
-
Hardwood looks better and is much easier to clean. You see the dirty and stuff on the floor much easier, so you clean more.
-
I have carpeting in the bedrooms and hardwood in the living room, family room and dining room and ceramic in the kitchen. Have to say with two dogs the hardwood always looks dirty too much dog hair.
-
I understand liking your feet hitting the carpet when you wake up, but for me, that's what they make rugs for. Hardwood is easier to clean, looks better, and lasts 100 times better. To each their own.
-
hardwood overall, except when you have dogs that tend to pee way too much and you don't notice it; then it starts warping the wood.
-
Hardwood, the path in a carpet wears quickly and it has to be replaced more often, also like the look of wood better.
-
Hardwood all the way, carpet is hard to keep clean and makes it harder to breathe
-
I have hardwood in all bedrooms, hallway, dining room, and living room. Ceramic tile in all bathrooms, kitchen, foyer, and family room.
-
We have both hardwood and carpet.
Definitely linoleum or tile in the bath and kitchen.
Carpet in the living room.
Hardwood in the bedrooms and dining rooms.

i have carpet in the a couple of rooms.. and linoleum in the kitchen and bathroom..and hardwood in bedroom
-
Carpet. It absorbs dirt.
-
I like hardwood floors.
-
I enjoy the feeling of carpet in the bedroom but prefer hardwood, tiles etc everywhere else in the house.
-
I prefer hardwood all throughout the home, except for the bathroom and kitchen of course.
-
Hardwood, no allergans
-
I like both!
-
Hardwood floors will always last the longest. Much cheaper in long end,
-
I have carpeting in mostly all of my house except for the kitchen and bathroom and I like it pretty much, although you do have to vacuum frequently and get Stanley Steemer in once in a while. But if I had it to do over again, I would have wood floors because I like the look of wood better.
-
I have carpet through out my house except for the bedrooms and I believe this is where all the sickness comes from and once I save up to rip the carpets up I'm doing it to have hard wood floors throughout my house! Can't wait for the day! :D
-
I say hardwood floors because it's easier to clean.
-
I like a mix, carpet in the bedrooms, family room and living room. Hardwood in the dining room. Tile in the kitchen and bathrooms.
-
I prefer hardwood floors because they are easier to keep clean. Dirt gets trapped underneath carpet and it eventually begins to smell. :dog:
-
I have carpet everywhere except the bathrooms and kitchens... and I hate it! Having pets it's very hard to get carpet clean. If I ever have the money, I'll put hardwood in.
-
I prefer carpet because in the winter carpet is so warm under your feet especially if you like to walk around with no shoes on like I do.
-
I have carpet in the living room and it's okay, but I'd rather hardwood floors with an 10x12 rug. I have tongue and groove pine flooring in the kitchen and after we bought it (years ago), we realized why it was cheap....the tongue and groove were backwards so I have this v-shaped "gully" between the boards! It's horrible to clean. We are going to tear it up and put vinyl down there, too.
We have vinyl in the bathrooms and vinyl in the dinette area. We used to have carpeting there, but got rid of it. The carpeting in the master bedroom was torn out a few years ago and have only the plywood surface there. Because of the high humidity in that room, the carpet got mold on it in certain areas around the walls. So it would be nice to have an area rug there, not wall-to-wall.

The house we lived in for 38 years had carpet but we took it all out except for the living room. A daughter lives there now and she took it out of that room also. Our sinuses got much better after we removed the carpet. The house we live in now had carpet also but we took all of it out when we remodeled. Don't think I would ever go back to carpet because no matter how much you vacumn you can never keep dirt from working its way thru the carpet and the padding.
-
I have carpet in all rooms but the foyer, utility, bathrooms, dining and Kitchen. However, I am looking into laying wood flooring in my kitchen, dining, and foyer and hallways.
-
Hardwood for sure. I have allergies, especially dust allergies, and carpeting aggravates that.
-
I prefer hardwood everywhere :)
-
carpet hide dirt better ha ha
-
hardwood its so much easier to clean .
-
Hardwood. I have red oak floors
-
Would like to sweep your QUESTION under the rug :silly: 8)
-
I prefer hardwood floors. I used to have carpet in my bedroom and living room. After moving to a new location, the bedrooms and living room have hardwood floor which is better and easier to clean.
-
We hardwood in our hallway and guestroom, remaining 3 rooms are still carpet.
-
I have carpet throughout my house except for the kitchen, which has a stone looking laminate flooring. I do really like the plush carpet in my own bedroom!
-
We have three young boys and we have pets. The home we purchased two years ago has carpet through out, even in the bathroom. We love the feel of carpet in the bedroom. As for the rest of the house other flooring would definitely be better. We hope to update when we can. It is easier to clean hardwoods. Vinyl in the bathroom and laundry would prevent water absorption.
-
Rather deal with hardwood. Carpets are too much of a hassle to clean.
-
I have both, hardwood in kitchen, dining, and living room. I have carpet in the bedrooms. Seems that is the most common and I like it that way.
-
Just sold my house with hardwood floors and moved into nearly total carpeted area prefer hardwood for cleaning ease but like the soft carpet for feet comfort
-
I love hardwood floors with scatter rugs :)
-
in my apartment I have carpet in the living room and bedroom, and my kitchen I have hardwood floors. I like both carpet and hardwood.
-
I have carpet everywhere except the kitchen. That's actually ceramic tile.
-
The more I think about it I would like a mix. Carpets definitely for the bedrooms but I think I would prefer hardwood in sitting areas.
-
Depends on the room, bedrooms I like carpet. Hardwood looks nice but you have to watch out what kind you get. My parents got whole house hardwood and it's pretty but they say it takes constant cleaning like maintaining a piece of furniture.
-
Hardwood is easier to clean, but they aren't as comfortable as carpet. Tradeoffs to each.
-
I have hard tile.
-
I'm like you I like carpet in the bedrooms and wood or laminate wood floors.
-
Hardwood only. I use area rugs. I find that no matter how many times you shampoo your carpet, it still doesn't get clean.
-
I like laminate floor, easy to clean.
-
I would LOVE to tear ALL the carpet out of the house & have hardwood floors only, but since it's not my house, it's not an option. HATE carpet with a passion.
-
I have hardwood floors through the whole house except 3 bedrooms and a family room. It is easy to clean and doesnt collect allergans.
-
I don't like carpet, ours is older and time to get rid of it, Just can never get it clean enough. I want tile all over my house, I prefer to mop it all the time. Smells so much better and easier to get rid of dust. also easier to clean when it gets some mud on it.
-
I have carpet throughout my house and there are some advantages to it. It is soft on bare feet, for instance. But they have to be vacuumed a lot and should be steam cleaned occasionally too. If I had it to do over again I would get mostly hardwood with some carpeting here and there because hardwood is easier to keep clean.
