Title: NAPS
Post by: debidoo on July 24, 2017, 08:33:16 am
Do any of you take naps?  I do every day that I have a chance and I sleep for a long time.  I have health issues that I am sure contributes to this but at any rate I do it.  When my sons either one or both of them are home they pitch a fit about it and so I usually make myself stay up.  I don't get upset with them anymore about it because I know they just worry about me.

I wish I could. Especially in the winter months. I don't want to get out of bed at all but that was me dreaming. I do need a nap every once in a while!

I don't get the chance that often to take a nap sometimes I can rest for 1/2 hour or so and that helps. However, if I am really tiered during the day I try not take a nap during the day because I could sleepfor hours and not sleep at night. when I m really tiered to tey to exercise for a few minutes and that sometimes helps :rainbow: :rose: :peace:

I can rarely actually fall asleep during a nap because it takes me so long, I usually just lay there and think about all the other stuff I could/should be doing instead. Sometimes if I just tell myself I don't have to sleep but I am just going to lay here and relax for 10 minutes that can be restful in its own way.

Naps in the middle of the day really helps you stay fresh for the rest of the day.

I try not to because if I do take a nap then I'd not be able to fall asleep at night.

I always try to go in around three and read for one half hour, then fall asleep. Normal nap time is 1 hour twenty minutes!  Good for the rest of the day.

I try not to nap too often because after a while it will throw me off. I can't help the chronic fatigue though, it's part of a birth defect I have. Some times I just can't stay awake.

When I was younger never though about taking a nap. But now as I get older and my back gets worse, it feels good to lie down for a short time, I may or may not fall asleep but just some rest  is great. Hubby can fall asleep in nothing flat during the day, but my mind wanders and I keep thinking about things I need to do. Like get on Fusioncash. Because I only have a  couple of hours to do it after working for 4 hours at a time at the charity place.

Once I'm up I'm up I rarely take naps unless I'm sick.  Sometimes if I have a long enough break at work I can get a little nap in.

I live in an apt. bldg that has a lot of seniors on my floor. "

There is a time every day, 12 noon to 2:00, when it is so quiet on this floor. That is what I call "senior nap time", and the laundry room is empty.

That always makes me happy.

I work second shift.  During the school year I enjoy taking a nap after dropping the boys off at school.

I take naps every once in a while. I don't like to take them during the week because I have a hard time falling asleep on time, so I mostly nap on weekends when I do.

I'm a strange one. if I get up at 5:30 a.m., I'm good to go all day long, but if I sleep until 7-7:30 a.m., I'm tired and need a nap during the day. I usually fall asleep at the computer without realizing it!

I try to take a nap on the weekend. Sometimes it just gets so hard with so much stuff that needs to get done.

I hate taking naps because then it's hard for me to fall asleep at night but getting up so early every day sometimes I can't help it and pass out.  On these occasions before I nap I set an alarm for no more than a half an hour.  That give me enough time to 'recharge' without cutting into my sleep time.

I hardly ever take naps because I have a hard enough time going to sleep at night.  Sometimes I'll doz off for a little while during the day in place of sleep the night before.

I don’t have the habit of taking naps. If I wake up too early in the morning, I may end up taking a nap in the late afternoon or early evening. It is especially true during high humidity of the hot summer weather. It depends how drowsy and sluggish I feel.

I usually avoid naps for this very reason; not being able to fall asleep at night, but lately my body must be needing more rest bc it hasn't been much of an issue.

I hate taking naps because then it's hard for me to fall asleep at night but getting up so early every day sometimes I can't help it and pass out.  On these occasions before I nap I set an alarm for no more than a half an hour.  That give me enough time to 'recharge' without cutting into my sleep time.

I would love to, mostly though I don't have time.... when I do.. I crash in my kids room while they play.. you can only imagine how relaxing that it, with a 3year old jumping on top of me... but hey, at least I get to close my eyes now and then when I am totally exhausted.

 ;D

I'm pretty sure I like taking naps, I just can't remember, it's been so long. When my daughters were young I loved afternoon naps with them in my lap. sadly they're to old for such things now. I think I need some grandkids!

I would love to be able to take a nap in the afternoon every day. I usually have the time to take about an hour long snooze, but can never seem to get to sleep at that time. You are lucky you can do it.

Sometimes I find it a necessity. My wife tells me to take the occasional couch nap which is me closing my eyes for 10 minutes. It's my power nap time because I get into a deep sleep. When I wake up I feel refreshed.

I love taking naps, although I rarely get to do it during the week. Sunday is usually my nap day, especially when it rains. I get all my sleep caught up on Sunday.

I have a sleep disorder. I was on medication for awhile that kept me awake (whether I wanted to be or not) but I was worried about the long-term health effects of it so I stopped. I typically take a nap on Saturday and Sunday. OMG ... is it heaven. LOL. My favorite is to take a nap after I've had my lunch and wake up at dinner time. In the past, I've had partners who called me "lazy," but I'm not letting them apply such labels to me ever again. I'm gonna be myself, and if the person I am likes to take a nap on the weekends, so be it. :)

I wouldn't consider what I do napping but I do end up knocking out on my chair now and then for about 30mins to 1hour depending on if my head drops.
