Title: Worried about what other's think
Post by: Tresbn00 on January 05, 2018, 05:53:46 pm
My daughter's boyfriend, from Scotland, flew in last week for a three week stay. He is finishing up a PHD in electrical engineering and my daughter is eighteen months from finishing her degree in mechanical engineering. The first question my son had for the Scottish lad was "What do other countries think about what is going on in America?". Scotty seemed prepared for the question and said that other countries like the larger percentage of people in the United States. My son seemed unsatisfied with the answer so Scotty elaborated: 'Every country has had a leader (at one time or another) that made unpopular, seemingly poorly thought out decisions, and did not follow what the majority of it's citizens request/prefer. Cutting off support for certain countries, breaking alliances with others, taunting some, using media to create propaganda, locking other countries out, and being disrespectful to other countries does not represent the majority of people who did not vote for this president. The people of the US have been able to stop, and block, so much needless legislation. The one, first year, accomplishment only affected the United States and the rest of the world is happy for that."
