I love the book of Matthew. I even named our son Matthew. This is one of the books that Jesus spoke in. Most of Easter services talk from this book. As a female, I also like the book of Ruth. This book is a good faith book for women when they are down on their luck and finances.

My absolute favorite is Psalms.  I love reading Psalms but I know I should read more of some of the other books.  I get a verse of the day in e-mail so I do get exposure to other books and verses.

I enjoy the whole Bible. I watch Sheperd's Chapel every morning. Pastor Dennis Murray teaches from the King James Bible only. He teaches chapter and verse by verse and explains what each verse means. I love My Father in Heaven. :angel11:

I was at the library and this gray haired old woman was giving her opinions on her beliefs like what she thinks/says matters because her father was a preacher. I thought she was a fool thinking the Catholic Church and bible have it right. The Vatican has Jesus as a white hippy type which is bs for one. She was going on about Purgatory and how she prays 6 hours a day and giving  money to this cause and that one  " I give to the Cancer society because my husband had it" American Cancer Society helps torture innocent animals so that a bunch of ppl who usually deserve cancer feel hope and that's such bs. Really wanted to stab her in the eyes with her crucifix

My favorite is Ephesians.  Is is the first book I read and did a study on with a small group.  The pastor was able to dissect each chapter into sections with interactive ways of understanding and applying how things were different yet in many ways the same as back then.  I still have my study notes from the class and often look back at them as reminders on the lesson.  Sure do miss that pastor.    I've never listened to Pastor Murray - I think I'll take a look.  I listen to 2 local pastors.

I Love many books in the Bible, but I guess I would have to say the book of John, because I learned my first Bible verse from that book, but I also loves Ephesians.

He forgot to include the verse that singles him out JJ....

Remind him what Peter said JJ.....

You know this first, that in the last days there will come ridiculers with their ridicule, proceeding according to their own desires and saying: 'Where is this promised presence of his? Why, from the day our forefathers fell asleep in death, all things are continuing ...

I already reported him once before. (The admins drag their feet on these things, but they DO listen.) I recommend others do the same.

So everyone except me understood what "Bible Boom" meant. I'm sorry. I didn't get that.

BTW, let's be kind to those who don't believe what we believe.  :peace:

It's not a case of his not agreeing with Christianity, he literally said "F U" to somebody in another topic. That should not be tolerated.

Everyone has "issues" or peeves and of mine are the holy rollers as well as smokers, drunks, druggies, litterbugs, animal abusers and liars to name some.  I lived my life with the firm belief that if you're a truly good person you're fine, I was never baptized despite being of Irish Catholic and Germanic Protestant families and my life is fine.Never met a preacher who was pure, just full of *bleep* and vinegar.

I almost got baited into feeding the trolls! Gotta watch out for that!

I don't know that I really have a favorite book of the Bible.  I once gave a presentation to a group of rural Catholics on the Gospel of John, which I took almost point by point from a REAL scripture scholar - but of course gave him full credit for the analysis and content.

Let me guess:
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life".

My gut tells me even if you met someone who was pure and truthful it might NOT matter to you.You mocked Jesus thats why i know that.Try  meditating on exactly what he did for the human race and what he went thru.Im sure you will come back and say he was a myth or something like that.

My names means "God is Gracious"  While all the bootlickers should be worried,a truly righteous and incredible person like me is fine because I either do everything right or try to do everything right and I'm right about these pathetic "words of God"   God can speak for himself and can tell us what's what and has no alternate agenda unlike Church's ,Israel, and everything religious. Only religion turned  Jesus white because of it's agenda. Jesus was a very nice brown or Black man who got a raw deal in dark times.
