I watched a talk show and someone said they were hypnotized so that they could become more positive and outspoken around groups of people. And by doing the hypnosis, they became comfortable talking to groups of people and was promoted at work.
I am curious about hypnosis. Anyone here ever do this or thought about it?
-
No i have not, but i have watched a show where they put people on stage and they get zonked out.
-
I don't see how that sort of stuff could work. I think the person has to be some mix of extremely suggestible and playing along.
-
No. It's been tried on me a few times though.
-
I would never do it for fear I would make a fool of myself.

“There should not be found in you anyone who . . . binds others with a spell.”—DEUTERONOMY 18:10, 11.
-
I would not do that. However, I have heard of someone saying that it helped them to quit smoking. I don't understand how.
-
No, I have never been hypnotized. This is not a road I would want to go down.
-
We had a guy that came to our church a few years ago that was a hypnotist. There isn't anything I can think of that I would need a hypnotist to help me overcome at this time.
-
I have been hypnotized twice. Both times were on stage. The first time I came out of it pretty early and was dismissed back into the crowd. The 2nd time I had to be taken out of it and when I awoke I was very drowsy. Now that I know more (Biblically speaking) I'll never participate in hypnosis again.
-
no but saw someone at school being hypnotized and had them crowing like a chicken.
-
Yes in a way. I did a past life regression with a professor NYU some years ago.
-
I have never been and don't intend to either
-
No I have not and it is not something I would do.
-
never... I find it interesting and intriguing... but can also be dangerous... you would have to find a real specialist, cause you don't know what they really put in your head. Would you really want someone to manipulate your thoughts and feelings?
I think I would, if I had to overcome a big trauma or something bad.. and I knew that would be the only possible way to feel better
-
Yes, I have and I really don't think I was but they said I was.
-
Nope. I always want to be in control.
-
Never. I am too obsessed with what they may do when I am under. I do not trust anyone to have that much control over me.
On a lighter side, I love the episode of *bleep* Van Dyke where he is hypnotized to wave a paper bag over his head and cluck like a chicken.
-
I saw something about getting hypnotized to quit smoking. I know someone who has done it and they said it works great! Maybe one day I'll try it.
-
By being hypnotise many people recall things from their childhood.
-
Ive never been no, not sure if I believe it or not, but have always been fascinated by it
-
I went to a club one time where they took me onstage and tried to hypnotize me along with a few other people. I played along, but I didn't believe it for a second. :angry7:
I think it may be possible but probably the person has to be very suggestible and want it to be real. The jury is still out on this one for me.
:fish:

no i have never been hypnotized i even tried it once as part of a show at an amusement park but it never worked
-
Nope & don't plan to have some one mess with my already messed up mind!
-
I've never had the opportunity, but I don't think it'd work on me. I'm not skeptical, but I think you have to be able to unlock (and free) certain parts of the mind and I just don't think it'd work. I'm sure it works on others, but I'm just doubtful it would do anything for me.
-
Nah, and I don't think I would be interested.
-
Yes, once. It didn't really work for me though. I think you have to really "believe" in the ability of a stranger's ability to hypnotize you, and then you're more susceptible to it working. I personally found it to be a waste of time.
-
I long ago had a psychologist who used the technique in his practice and wanted to try it on me because he thought it might be helpful. So I decided, "Why not?" After two attempts, I just told him I didn't want to do it anymore. Frankly, the first time I pretended I was and the second time I just came out and told him I wasn't "under." Neither time I was no more hypnotized than I am right now sitting here writing this post.
-
i honestly don't hink i could be hypnotised...it sounds cool...but im too much of a realist to think it could even work on me..might be surprised...but...
-
No, and it's not anything I would be interested in.
-
I never have.
-
I used to think it was all fake. The last few years I've read a lot about health and personal development. The mind is a powerful thing and most people don't realize how much we can influence it. I now believe it is possible.
-
No, I don't believe in it.
-
I am not sure I believe in this
-
I tried hypnosis one time. It was to quit smoking and was guaranteed to work. It did....for 5 whole hours. During the "class," we had to throw our cigarettes away...so when the hypnosis wore off, i had to go get another pack of cigarettes.
Anyway, since it was guaranteed to work or we would get another free session, I called the number to set up another time only to be told they wouldn't be back in my area for a year and they dont' schedule that far ahead. IOW, rip-off.
-
No I haven't ever been hypnotized, but hear that it can cure people of some issues they may have.
-
Yes and it was a very nice experience. I quit smoking!
-
I have never personally been hypnotized but my in laws did it to quit smoking and it worked for them.
-
I tried to get hypnotized years ago to loose weight, but it didn't work. I'm dubious about the whole process.
-
I am not turning over my will and my soul to the care of anyone other than the Lord.
It is insane and dangerous, and I will not do it.
:rose:

I was hypnotized once to help me stop smoking. It was an outfit that came to town and set up in a hotel room lol. I took someone with me to make everything stayed on the up and up. It did but the hypnotize didn't work. I quit on my own a few years later.
-
I never have myself. When my son graduated High School they had an after party at a park and there was a man there doing hypnosis. He had kids thinking they were chickens and other animals.
-
I never have but my son has been twice. Once at a school function and the other at a festival we went to. He went under pretty easily. Told him NEVER do it unless others were around to make sure no one does anything to him that they shouldn't do.
-
I would never give someone that type of power over me. I have to be in control of me. Being hypnotized is a no win situation.
-
No i have not, but i have watched a show where they put people on stage and they get zonked out.
I am not sure I believe that is real.
-
No, I have never been nor had an interest in doing so always fearful something might go wrong and I could not be bought out of it!
-
no I don't feel interested in it
-
I don't think I could ever really relax enough to be hypnotized. I never known anyone who has but I would like to meet someone who has been before.
-
Nope, not sure if anybody ever has ;-)
-
no cant say i even believe in it.........
-
No, Make me think if its even real or it only works on idiots who fall for it.
-
I've been drunk
-
i do not believe it works
-
I have never been hypnotized and I would not want to be. I am afraid I may get stuck in the hypnosis and can not get back to my true self.
-
I never have been and don't think I would ever want to be hypnotized, but it is real.
Google the name Michael Fine and hypnosis and you'll find a plethora of news stories about how this scumbag used hypnosis to take advantage of several women in vulnerable situations. I briefly knew this guy professionally years before he was exposed.
-
Never have been hypnotized. I've always wanted to see it done to someone I know, but never have. Yet.
-
Never been hypnotized before. Thought about ut though
-
I've never been put under hypnosis. Though I've had a friend who had it done. She said it just put her in a very relaxed state, but she was still in control.
-
No. I've been to a few hypnotist comedy shows but I didn't volunteer to go on stage. I didn't want the reading afterwards if I did something embarrassing.
