Title: Is Technology keeping you up at night???
Post by: Mizzkizz7 on May 05, 2018, 02:17:49 pm
Lately I've been going to sleep around 3am-4am in morning checking twitter, doing surveys, and playing Cookie Jam. Anyone else a night owl?

No, usually stop internet looking about 8 or 9 pm, watch tv instead.  Don’t look at internet until next morning.

I don't do  any thing on the computer after 9 p.m., just shut it down. Go to bed around 9:15. But I am  up around 4:30 to 5:30 every morning.  If I can I am out in the yard by then doing yard work before it gets too darn hot. Right now I require a light jacket about that time but within a few hours it is off and it is getting hot. By 10:00 pm  it will be hiting close to a hundred here in a few weeks. so I have to stay ahead of it  as time goes on.

I read or play mild games on my tablet until I feel sleepy.  I don't think I could fall asleep without it.

No! I generally turn it off early evening; the only time I even keep my cell phone in bedroom at night is if there is something going on with my Mom who lives out of state that may be an emergency; she calls equally on landline and cell; but I don't allow technology to keep me up!

I was up until 2am this morning working on a new Channel for YouTube. Learned some new stuff watching a few hours of video yesterday to help me out. The Internet is fantastic.

I generally turn off all tech besides the TV by around 10p.m. but I try to do it earlier. I find that if I am still involved by  8:30, I just turn all off and watch TV.  Frankly, TV can keep me awake sometimes; however, on the other hand, I have grown more and more used to it helping to put me to sleep.  I just turn the sound down so I really have to concentrate to hear it and put the timer for it to turn off in 90 or 120 minutes.

i usually relax to watch TV around 8 p.m., but usually fall asleep by 9. Then i'm awake at 11:30 p.m. If I don't eat my chocolate ice cream at that time, I'd be awake all night! Even then, sometimes it doesn't help and my inner clock will have me awake all night and sleep all day for weeks. it happens every couple months.

Technology doesn't really keep me up because I'm doing stuff all day long on the computer and get tired of it. Like this weekend...i'm not doing anything on here except FC, then I'll shut the computer off until tomorrow and sit on the sofabed reading and doing old-fashioned crossword puzzles from a book.

I deliberately shut down all my electronic stuff at 8 pm sharp including TV, phone, computer, etc. so I can read a book until tired enough to fall asleep. It calms me down slowly so I can eventually fall asleep. Otherwise I stay alert to react to the electronic stuff. It is definitely addictive.

I can go overboard with playing games but usually turn in around 11:30 after the news .  I' don't have any social sites, most of the time my cell is in another room, in the car or somewhere other that within reach.  I use  the desktop for fusion, news etc because I like a large monitor.

Yes. I have always been a night owl, and the internet guarantees that I don't go to bed until around 6 a.m.

I end up watching television, doing surveys, and playing poker on Pogo.

However, I am on disability, thus the crazy hours.

Hello! :D :)

I'm definitely a night owl but it is due to me working on my business, not fun and games. After I finish work and do my little exercise at the park I come here to work on my business. Yes, I'm tired but I gotta grow my business.  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:

i always have been, but not I'm able to do it more often. Sometimes I sit on the porch until 3:00 on the morning and I have my dog trained to sleep in the next day. He's really good about that too.

Now that I'm retired, I can finally sleep the way I want.  I have always been a night owl, but had obligations that forced me to go to bed early and get up early.  These days, I'm afraid I feel like I've gone to bed early if I'm in bed before 3 am.  I have so many fun things to do on the Internet, I never seem to find a stopping place. I have tried to break this habit, but I always end up going back to my old pattern.  It's rough on days when I have to be somewhere early in the morning.

I use my phone as an alarm but I make sure to keep it out of reaching distance.  I really should stay away from screens, but everything is so technical these days. I want to keep up with the news, play my games, check in with people, etc. I know I fall asleep better when I stay on a schedule, but adulting is so hard!  :crybaby2:

I religiously shut down all electronics at 8 p.m. every day so I can read for a couple hours before falling asleep. I was experiencing a lot of stress during the day until I figured out it a lot of it was due to having all kinds of alerts set on my iPhone - one for every incoming email, one for every play an opponent made in a world-wide scrabble games I have going, one for every text, etc. So I took off all the alerts and now feel a whole lot better,
