Title: Fake/Deceptive Sites
Post by: countrygirl12 on June 04, 2018, 06:00:04 am
Has anyone else had this happen?

Several times I have clicked the thing in the 2 cent emails and when it tries to go to the page I get a popup from my virus protection telling me the page is fake or deceptive or have even had it shut me down saying it had just blocked a hack attempt.

Yes that has happened to me now and again - I just avoid em.  It's frustrating and a time waster.  But I'm glad the protection is in place.

Well at least I am not the only one.  I don't know if the sites are really deceptive or viruses. If so and it is happening to everyone then I would think they need to stop working with those sites. But it could just be the virus protection being over protective.

I get that a lot on the 15 cents paid to click thing in the mornings. Not where you click to go to the coupon page but where you click on one of the ads on the left to visit a site. Happens to me every single morning that I do it, regardless of which one I click on.  I'm just glad the antivirus catches it!

That happens to me every morning when I try to do my daily FC Paid to Click for 15 cents. My computer goes crazy with giving notices that this is some kind of really awful site to be on security-wise. I just keep on doing it anyways.

I don't think I have ever reported it.  I am sure we all have different virus protection so with it happening to a lot of us then something is def not right.

I don't remember if it happens there but I know it happens on the email.  I click to open the email and then it is the box with the ad where you click it and then it tells you to enter the catch phrase.  When I click that ad I get the pop up telling me it is not safe.

Yeah, I recon I still get paid. I get the banner that says I have been paid the 2 cents.  Just think it is odd.  Makes me wonder if the ad is really unsafe.

What I really hate is when you are watching videos on this site and others and either my anti-virus blocks it or my computer freezes up.  I have even run my anti-virus at times but it doesn't indicate there is a virus, but my computer seems "bogged down" for awhile.  It just lets me know something wasn't right.

Yes, I have had it happen quite often on here.  I shut the sites down as soon as I realize they aren't what they are supposed to be.  I have gotten messages that the site has been blocked by my anti-virus/malware software.

Once in awhile I get pop up from my virus/malware saying the site is blocked and dangerous; so I immediately avoid going any further, just glad to know it works!!

No, I am not aware of sites like that.

No, I am not aware of sites like that.

I think you misunderstood.  Or maybe you are in the dark and need to be filled in.  There are sites that are fake. They look like a site you visit normally such as your bank.  For example I got a message from "my bank" lol saying my card had been locked and I needed to follow the link provided (which takes me to a site that looks like my bank site) and enter my password.  If I done that I am giving this fake site my log in and password.

When I click the ad to get the 2 cents and it tries to go to the ads page my virus protection is flagging it saying the site is fake.

A lot of times this happens when the sites certificate is expired.  Or if the site is operating under another business such as "Company B dba Company A"  dba - doing business as

Our local McDonald's the official name is not McDonald's.  It's something like Johns Playhouse dba McDonald's.  Hard to explain if you do not understand stuff like that.  Basically he has a bigger business that has purchased franchises of fast food places.  SO the payroll checks do not say McDonald's they say whatever his parent business is.  SO if the local website is suppose to be McDonald's but has the certificate of the parent business then virus protection is most likely going to flag it.

Or at least I hope that is what is happening and FC is dealing with fakers who are trying to get our info. lol
