I haven't been to the dentist in approximately 10 years due to lack of funds primarily so I don't need as much work as I was afraid I would but more than I would like so.......................and it isn't cheap for sure. WOW life is so much fun sometimes. Do you regularly go to the dentist?
-
Haven't been to a dentist in 30 yrs....got in a car accident and cracked a rear molar....so far no cavities... :highfive:
-
I haven't been in a few years. I need to go. Really low on funds.
-
Yes, for healthy teeth, go every six months for a check up.
-
I just called the other day and made an appointment for a cleaning haven't had one in three years so I'm in desperate need I couldn't get into August 14th but at least it's on the calendar now so I can go
-
I too haven't been in years, but now I can, having problems with tooth sensitivity, been using Sensodyne.
-
I never go until something is wrong. I really should schedule a cleaning though. :)
-
i dont go until i have too

didn't go for 5 years got all my teeth pulled when I did go it was bad

I didn't go for a few years in my late 20's and I soooo regret it. I have been going regularly for about 4 years now, but the initial costs of cleaning, and repairs, etc were so high, I should have just been going all along. I now go 3 times a year. My dental insurance is not that expensive and my copays are low. I only get one set of teeth so trying to take care of them.
-
I do now. I have had so many issues with my teeth. You are right, even with insurance dental work is crazy expensive.
-
Don't go every year but try to go every 2 years. Have a private insurance that we pay for and it is still expensive. I have been lucky but not my husband.
-
Yes I do go regularly because I have dental insurance. There was a time I wasn't working and didn't have insurance and I got a cleaning, x rays and check up for $25 at a dental school. If you can't afford it see if there is a dental school in your area because they offer discounted rates. They can't do all the services you might need but at least they can do a cleaning and check up. The students need to practice and they advertise that's how I found out. I saw an ad in craigslist years ago. The students are supervised by their professors so you're still being seen by a professional.

I go every six months now that I have dental insurance. Without it, I would go every year to year & a half due to the expense. Fortunately, I haven't had a cavity in many, many, many years!
-
I think the last time I went to the dentist was around 2001. I know that's horrible. I'm afraid to go now because it's been so long. My husband has a broken tooth that needs to be fixed (or pulled), but the anesthetics the dentists use don't work on him. Not sure what to do about that? Might have to put him completely under.
-
I go to the dentist twice a year or every 6 months. I have insurance so its free.

I do this, but it's $100 a visit so I only go once a year. My real opinion is it's a good way for the supervisors to get referrals to their private practices and that is NOT cheap.
-
I go to the dentist every 6 months to get cleaning. Though xrays are way to much money every other 6 months.
-
i go twice a year every 6 months

I had to go a few months ago for the first time in years. I don't go because I don't like dental work. I wish I had gone sooner though because I waited so long I had to have a root canal and crown.
-
Used to go regularly and then a couple years ago got bridgework done when I broke a tooth. Still payingt on it - it was 4500 altogether. Then broke the bridge and now wish I would have just had a crown put on or just had the tooth yanked out and forgot about it because in order to get the bridge, the dentist drilled two good teeth to put the bridge on. I so wish I didn't have a bridge now.!
-
I haven't been in 7 years. My parents would be so disappointed in me after all the money they put into my teeth with oral surgeries and braces. I have to be employed for 5 years with this company before I qualify for dental.. Only 2 years to go.
-
I usually go once a year, Unlike my grandparents, they have full denture and don't need to go to dentist
-
I was a dental hygienist for thirty years. It pays in the long run to get regular checkups and cleanings. It's amazing how much pain you can experience from teeth when something goes wrong. I often wonder how the people of old managed without the services of a dentist!
-
I go to the dentist every six month and I have had more work done then I care to remember. I have sure shelled out a lot of money going that is for sure.
-
I have not been in a while. I really need to but it's hard to fit it in to my schedule.
-
Before November of last year, I hadn't seen a dentist in seven years :o. Thankfully I didn't have any major problems. Now I plan to visit the dentist every 6 months.
-
I try to get regularly, tooth problems can cause lots of other problems in your body. So if you can go at all it is a wise thing to do.
-
Been two and a half years. Saving up.
Think teeth (few that I have left) are ok. I can still talk and chew
:rose:

I now go every six months for a cleaning and checkup - but had gone about ten years without seeing the dentist at one point. No cavities over that span, but it took an extra long time for the hygienist to do a proper cleaning that first time back!
-
I too haven't been in years, but now I can, having problems with tooth sensitivity, been using Sensodyne.
Bshee, how does Sensodyne work for you? I had a sensitivity problem as well and the dentist suggested Sensodyne for me. I used it for about 1-2 years, but did not notice much of a difference. Then I tried using the Tom's of Maine brand sensitive variety and have been using it pretty much exclusively for the past 7 or 8 years. It works so much better than Sensodyne for me.
-
Ohmy...thanks for the remind...geez no talk about teeth.
-
I've got dental insurance and I go every six months. You just have to take care of your teeth, so I go regularly.
Went to another dentist in the interim for a root canal and a crown which they did in one day. One day! It was so cool. They made me a crown right there in the room to fit my teeny mouth.

I used to get my teeth cleaned every 3 months after I had the gum scaling done but my finances have made that impossible for the last few years. I have noticed that since I stopped smoking my teeth are much whiter. I rinse with peroxide to help keep them white.
-
Wish I had taken better care of my teeth.
-
Nope. I used to go once a year but, it's gotten too expensive. The last estimate my husband got, for his teeth, was $14,000. I laughed and said, well, that isn't going to happen. Mine would probably be close to that. I have, at least 4 or 5 broken molars that need crowns and I, somehow, managed to lose a crown. We can't afford to go to the dentist.

Hello! :D :)
I actually haven't been to the dentist in a while and I'm so scared to go. I'm afraid it will be a lot of work that needs to be done which will be expensive. :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:

I have been going religiously every 6 months since I was a little girl and I am now a senior. Even though I take good care of my teeth, I have always had terrible problems with them, so it is cheaper just to keep up with everything dental that is going on on a regular basis.
-
4 years I aint been to the dentsist
-
I go every 6 months because I have insurance. So far I haven't had much major work done.
I couldn't get my husband to go for his two checkups a year even though we have insurance.
A few years back, he finally went and had some gum disease and a crown. Luckily we have a Care Credit card so the work was put on a no interest plan and I was able to chip away at the bill every month using my HSA.
-
I only go when something is hurting, I can't afford it
-
I'd recommend going every 6 months. Even if you're low on funds, dental health effects your whole health, and there are lots of things you can miss even if you brush and floss regularly. Remember to floss everyone!! You have no idea how much junk you'll find stuck between your teeth.
-
No,not here,i cannot afford it.But i go once a year when i go at home in Europe.
-
Yes I go. A dentist botched a root canal and a bridge and I'm in the process of getting that fixed which is very costly. He's now in jail for doing the work of a specialist without the credentials. I think he watched youtube and decided to try some of that stuff and messed up a lot of people.
