I've made a black forest cake from scratch in my youth.... it was a lot of work if I remember correctly, but it was delicious. It's chocolate cake infused with cherry juice & whipped cream with cherries. It's not a heavy cake.
I hope you get to try it...
I"d like to try honeycomb cake, I love the honeycomb candy.

My favorite cake is a 7 up cake. So good and moist

Cake is a part of my life! I've never had a honey comb cake. I believe it's an Indonesian treat. I've worked with puff pastry on one occasion and didn't enjoy the experience one bit. I also don't care for the dry texture of it in other pastries so probably wouldn't be my thing. I just made a gluten free cupcake cake for my Mom. She turned 83 and recently mentioned she always wanted a Llama. So I made her one Neopolitan of sorts. 3 flavors, vanilla, chocolate and strawberry with a unique citrus buttercream.

I've never tasted honeycomb, black forest, or red velvet cakes.
