Boy there are some scents I really love but also some that give me a headache, and I can't always tell which right away. I find some candles are good or benign but air fresheners, especially those oil ones you plug in, instantly make me feel ill. Anyone else have that problem?
-
Some of them. Some of them I can't stand. There is a place I use to have to visit from where i worked and the one girl that worked in there burns the ocean scented candles and I swear it stinks up the whole building.
-
I have both, I think the candles last a bit longer than air fresheners, though.
-
I don't ccare for the essential oils. I do love the wax warmers though. We love the coconut scents and vanilla.
-
For me they have tp ne quite mild. the stronger scents just give me a headache also stops me up. I love going to church, but sometimes I have to set there during service with a Kleenex or hankie covering my nose and try breathing through it in order to get through the sermon . Our pastor has ask several times for those who wear such strong scents to not wear them and it wasn't for me. Several people have breathing conditions that make it really hard for them to breath. My problem is mild compared to there's . But they keep right on wearing it. Wish they would not wear it.

I don't really get ill but some scent does make me feel a quezy
-
I like the idea of scented candles, but every time I buy them, I hardly end up using them. I always worry about them causing a fire if I forget to put them out or something.
-
I love candles, anything that smells aromatic, I love it. Air freshers, wax melts. I normally go to Walmart and buy tealights and wax melts.
-
I do. I love things that smell good.
-
Scented candles yes, air fresheners no.

I remember in school a girl I had to sit behind (assigned seats) wore such strong perfume that would give me a migraine

I love Black Cherry candles....Vanilla is good too. 8)
-
I like scented candles. I find them to be a little expensive so I try to get them when they are on sale.
-
I like some of them. But most are too expensive.
-
I like Caramel Vanilla candles but don't like the air fresheners
-
I like some of the smells of both but can't use them in my house. They give me a headache and dry my sinuses out too bad. Perfume does the same thing to me.
-
I like both but I usually chose the air fresheners cuz many times I nearly burned down my house using scented candles.
-
I ask them do you want the faint or vomit spell I am smell sensitive too. Smells that are too strong I get mad at my self if it was expensive.
-
I love candles and air fresheners....however, some fragrances I don't particularly care for, it all depends upon the fragrance. :peace: :peace: :peace: :peace:
-
I get good smelling ones from the dollar store
-
I like scented candles. I never cared for the plug-ins.
-
I like scented candles. My favorite is apple spice. It reminds of Christmas.
-
Yes I have them all over, I love the smell of lavender which is always calming and ones that just give a clean fresh scent.
-
Yes, they definitely come in handy
-
Yes! I like the fruity flavors though not the floral ones
-
I love scented candles, but can't handle a lot of different scents at one time. They give me a headache. I also like the plug-ins that Bath and Body Works has.
-
Big fan of Yankee Candles. A bit pricey but, for me, they're worth the price. They burn evenly and they're always mild. Not a fan of air fresheneres.
-
I hate when i go into a candle store because of the strong smell. But i like some of them.
-
I love both and use them in every room
-
I love scented candles and the wax warmers. Went to the outlet store for Yankee Candle in Michigan City, In and stocked up on the fall scents.
-
I love scented candles but they are against the rules on my lease
-
yes and incense too
-
Yes, I love scented candles but only burn them when I know I am going to be near to keep a close eye. I love many different scents but if they are "heavy" like some of the florals, I can't use them. I like clean, fresh, natural scents. Right now I have one called Honeydew Melon. I am looking forward to some Fall scents, because I use different scents for different seasons.
-
:bunny: :cat: :dog: I do like scented candles and fresheners. I do agree with the way that some smell bad and others have a good smell. Some scents I would turn off earlier than others. :bunny: :cat: :dog:

I used to have camp fire scented candles, and it was so real . But i have tried to find them and can't i'd love to find more.
-
Yes, some scents are to strong for me. I love candles!
-
I love and I burn scented candles all the time. If I can't find what I am looking for, I will make my own.
-
yeah

Reminds me of the 7th grade English teacher. She used to "bathe" in her perfume. Dyed blonde, too. Smelled up the whole school. It made so many classmates sick. We knew when she was coming ahead of time. She was single but wore an engagement ring that must have been 10 carats or more. Covered the finger up to the first knuckle. Never forget her. Who could?
As for candles vs. air fresheners. I made the mistake of telling my boys I loved candles. 5 years ago, told them I stopped using them. I still have enough for another 5 years! I have some of those plug in air fresheners (oils). Bought one called Fresh Linen but it's so strong, can't use it. Am using Stress Relief now. Much better and sometimes I use Febreeze Air Effects. I really do love the candles in vanilla scents.
-
Candles I like and incense. Lemon smell is my favorite.
-
I like candles and air fresheners but I like incense even more.
-
I love the pine and the forest scents. Some are so strong they make me a little queasy. I love the candles and am not as fond of the air freshners.
-
I do not like candles...because I think they burn the little oxygen I have in my room.
I open my windows...and let the fresh air come in.
Then I spray my room with my favorite air freshener.
-
If causing you a headache, I think the plug in freshener are too strong for you, then it is good to change other kind such as aerosol or the scented is not that strong.
-
They don't give me a headache but I do believe they are bad for our health. I only use something like that if I have to.
-
I keep my plug in in an open area like the living room. When I have it in the bedroom or a small space and keep the door shut, I do get headaches.
-
I like to use both, but sometimes they give me a headache. So I have to be aware that I may need to turn it off.
-
Yes, I Love PUMPKIN scent.... I buy a lot of it so I Have it all year round.
-
Love burning candles, incense , wax melts, and oils.
-
I love the autumn and christmas scents.
-
there are different scents smells like cinnamon and peach it smells lovely
-
I absolutely love aromatherapy! I was looking at my monthly household shopping and half of it was aromatherapy (candle waxes, incense, and sprays).
-
You may be allergic to an ingredient in the plug in, you should look into that possibility.

-
I stopped using the plug ins because the smell fades after only a few days, mine don't last 30 days like the packaging says :-\
-
Candles are ok but strong scents cause my COPD to act up
-
I'm not one that is overly sensitive to scents, but don't do candles much anymore. The only safe good ones are so expensive and the air freshners don't last long and that becomes expensive too. I sound grumpy don't I ::)
-
I love scented candles but have cats that can literally jump anywhere so I can only burn them where I can keep an eye on them.
As for spray air fresheners I prefer the neutral ones that take away the kitchen smells after cooking.
-
I keep mines in the bathroom and kitchen it smells great
-
I like a few, some can be a bit over powering.
-
I love candles, scented or unscented and I like the essential oil misters.
-
Depends on the scent.
-
The only scents in candles I can handle are vanilla, coconut, and "pear".
I am sooooo allergic, and can't have most common detergents, can use only Ivory soap bars etc.
I do not use air fresheners. The chemicals are hard on my system, and generally unhealthy I believe....for me anyway.
I can not handle anything lavender smelling. Artifically scents that are not natural kicks off my allergies and asthma. Even on another person
:rose:
-
when i was younger i loved to burn candles. i no longer burn candles for fire safety reasons. I prefer candle scents to air fresheners . air freshers seem to be extremely strong.
my friend gave me a lilac candle for my birthday. I love taking the top off and smelling it! :rose: :pumpkin: :peace:
-
As long as the scent is light, I like air fresheners.
-
Pretty much it is all too strong. I have had to go to using unscented laundry detergents fabric softeners as the scented ones are overkill.
-
I prefer air fresheners, don't have to worry about anything catching on fire from the candles.
-
Yes, they definitely make a difference
-
yes I have them in every room and in my car also. Can't live without them.
-
I like the scent of real candles and they seem more stronger to keep air fresh
-
Yes... I love them.
I like Bath & Body works oils that you plug in to the walls. I like the fir scent for Christmas. I use these all the time... there's an energy one & a stress one that smell great.
I also like the diffusers, with oils & sticks that wick the oil into the air. I used to use the Fabreeze brand, it was a oil with a wood top that would collect the oil & give off the scent... but they discontinued :(
All my bathrooms have those diffusers currently.
I don't do candles because of the fire hazard issues.
-
I usually end up with watery eyes and sneezing. So I don't use them.
-
My wife is pretty heavy into essential oils and so we have a few diffusers in the house with different scents going at different times. I am more fond of the smell of burning incense than of oils or candles. But whatever floats your boat is my philosophy.
I do know that some of the essential oil aromas have different soothing and calming effects and some even have quasi-medicinal properties.
-
i have a friend that cant stand certain scents but i love just about any air fresheners escpecialoly now that fall starts tomorrow
-
I like scented candles. Don't really care for the plug-ins or spray fresheners
-
Yes I love scented candles.
-
I rather use candles because can air fresheners give me a headache
-
air fresheners, no chance of fire
-
Most scented candles and warmers are toxic for the air and not good to inhale. I use essential natural oils which are healthier and better for the environment.
-
I do like them but they don't like me. If I'm around much smelly stuff I get a terrible headache, whether it smells good or bad. Like this morning I sprayed bathroom cleaner in our shower and have a headache ever since. It's always been like that for me.
-
I have a diffuser where I put different scented oils in and I really like it.
