Title: New pets
Post by: santa7 on September 05, 2018, 06:45:47 pm
Didn't really want a new pet after the others were put down but these cats showed up.  so, not really a bad thing.  I enjoy them except I have to get up first thing in the morning and feed all the cats.

Good for you.   Did you adopt all of them?  How many are there?

I currently have 2 cats and a dog who are all 9 years old.  I have often kicked around the idea of a new puppy but usually talk myself out of it.  Not in the budget right now to afford a new animal.

Yes,  They are expensive and keep  you busy.  First thing in the morning, have to feed the cats.

I adopted 2 cats, would adopt the other two in shed but can't afford it.  Besides that, I have a cockatiel we've had him for 30 years.

Cats are pretty easy to keep, though.  Just put out a bunch of food and water and a box and they're good for days.  I have 2 dogs and 1 cat right now.

I have a cat that is like a child to me  She is a lot of company to me but she is getting old now and I dread the day when she will no longer be with me.

After our dog passed away 2 months ago my wife and i took it hard.We still shed tears.I saw on Facebook where a car stopped in front of a school and let a dog out.She was adorable.Knowing the situation i inquired if she was available.I was too late.

I didnt think i wanted to go thru the heartbreak again but it looks like i was wrong even tho i didnt get the dog.

Congratulations on your new pet cats!  Hopefully it will work out with the other two, finding them homes or keeping them.   Getting pestered in the morning for food is a a pain, especially when you have a day to sleep in & there they are bugging you to get up... but a small price to pay for the unconditional love they give you in return & they are so cute.

I love my cat, I dread the day he is no longer around... I've been thinking about getting another.

We have 3 cats and 3 dogs. They get pretty expensive at times but I wouldn't give them up for anything.
It is so hard when you have to have one put down though. It has been 2 years since our 15 year old retriever mix had to be put down and it still feels like yesterday.

:bunny:   :cat:   :dog: That's nice to have some pet kind of company. Pets can be a lot of work. It's sad to me to see animals in shelter's. Glad you were able to adopt a few. Hope they give you lot's of attention.  :bunny:   :cat:   :dog:

The initial training period for the pets is the worst of all.  But once you potty train things is so much better.  Still is like having another child.

My son, who is a sophomore in college, got a hedge hog his first week of the new semester. Than one of his room mates got a australian shephard puppy which, in turn, had my son get a puppy that has labrador, australian shephard, retriever and we all think a hint of pit bull. This puppy is extremely smart, mellow and well behaved. At nine weeks old the puppy had it's last accident ( it is twelve weeks old now), sits, stays, heels and is  trained to stop at street corners until given the command "okay". He doesn't beg and is currently in the process of getting service dog status. My son came home to visit with his pup last weekend and the pup was allowed in grocery stores and restaurants with a certificate showing that he was being trained to be a service dog. My son has even taken the pup to a hospital to visit with sick people.

We had dogs and cats for years and enjoyed every single one of them.  Just a few month ago we had to say goodbye to our last dog. He was 18 years old and was such a good dog.  We have no plans to get another pet of any kind.  Too much responsibility and hurts too much when you lose them.

I miss my cat that I had. I did not have her very long because it was too much work. I when my boys get older, I would like to get another cat. We have a bird now and it is going great.

Pets are great to have. When my dog died i went a few months without one but then decided to get one. Our home just does not seem complete without one.

once you get into a routine, you're good - cats are easy - just set the food out in another room the night before and open the door in the morning... might be a solution...  :peace:
