I just watched the trailer for Mary Poppins Returns. I loved Mary Poppins......so I hope the RETURN will be as exciting and fun!
Emily Blunt and Lin-Manuel Miranda star in the first full-length trailer for Mary Poppins Returns!
Here’s a synopsis: Mary Poppins is back to help the next generation of the Banks family find the joy and wonder missing in their lives following a personal loss. Blunt stars as the practically-perfect nanny with unique magical skills who can turn any ordinary task into an unforgettable, fantastic adventure and Miranda plays her friend Jack, an optimistic street lamplighter who helps bring light—and life—to the streets of London.

I can't wait to see it! I loved the original movie when I was young.

I just watched the Trailer ... It looks like a great movie. I was surprised and pleased to see that *bleep* Van Dyke will be in it as well.
-
Will this be the movie where Lin pulls off the EGOT?
-
I loved Mary Poppins. Don't know if it will be the same without original actors and actresses. I loved Julie Andrews and *bleep* Vandyke.
-
I liked the original and I also liked the story about how it was made with Tom Hanks but I don’t about a sequel.
-
I have not seen this one. I've only seen the original.
-
I am actually looking forward to seeing how it is despite my age.
-
Ha, ha. It's funny to see *bleep* Van Dyke. Are you kidding me? It's a person's name.
Everything you try to keep profanity out goes to the other extreme. :silly:

Had to look up EGOT. For those of you, like me, who did not recall or know what this was, it's the achievement of having won all four of the major American entertainment awards (i.e., an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony).

It is ridiculous, and yet those that want to be disruptive will still find away

I'm looking forward to this. I think Emily Blunt will be a perfect new Mary Poppins.

I'm not even a big fan of Mary Poppins, but I'm a cranky old fart when it comes to remakes, especially of wholesome old classics. Never seen a modern remake even approach the charm or class of its original.

I look forward to seeing this film. The original starring Julie Andrews is a timeless classic. It is still one of my all time favorite films.

One of my favorite moments was when we were in Disney World. Having breakfast at the Grand Floridian; my son (then 6 years old) is hardly excited to see Mary Poppins walking towards us. She quickly adjusts he and his sister for a quick picture and tells him Chin up don't slouch. Immediately his back straightened as his shoulders pulled back and he stuck his little chin up as she pulled the bottom of her umbrella out from under his jawline. To this day when I seem him slouching or sulking I remind him... "Chin up don't slouch."

I didn't really like the original one, so not sure I will see this one.
-
loved the first one,, this one will be just as good,, seeing where and what has happened with Mary Poppins since her last stay with the family :) People need to understand that this is not a "remake" of the movie,,, it is a continuing story about her after the other movie.
-
Ah, I didn't hear about this! The original Mary Poppins will be a hard act to follow, that's for sure.
-
So exciting.

Ditto...saw previews of new one....ugh... :bad: ::) :bad:

The original was a classic, though honestly, I was never into it as much as many other kids. Haven't seen the trailer yet, but nice to see they got Mister Van Dyke back!
-
That sounds like it will be fun to watch!
-
I love this movie. Its the best of a original story,.

I remember having to sit through Mary Poppins when I was in elementary school. They had a big screening of it around Christmas time the one year. I would have rather been doing long division put it that way. :BangHead: :BangHead: :BangHead:

What a great memory! I can "see" this image in my mind.....your son standing tall with Mary Poppin's umbrella tip under his chin and her giving him the "Chin up" directive.
