I have no plans that involve driving or being more than a mile from my house. New Year's Eve is amateur night with far too many people thinking that it is okay to drive while under the influence. Restaurants double their prices and bars are filled with inebriated people most of whom are compensating for low self esteem issues by exhibiting obnoxious behavior (that they would never think of doing while sober) and blaming it on whatever substance it is that they took. This is generally followed by a wasted New Year's Day.  We will have a nice dinner (steak and lobster purchased already before prices are artificially inflate), appetizers, fondue, bubbly and games with the family. We will run a five kilometer race before a big breakfast followed by a trip to the theater to see two or three movies and dinner at a restaurant. I will spend a day of vacation analyzing my 2018 goal achievement and create my 2019 goals.

The last couple of years, I've been asleep before midnight on New Years's Eve!       Party Animal!!!  :highfive:
Actually on NYE of 2016 into 2017, I was on a train somewhere between Washington DC and Orlando, Florida when midnight hit.

We don't have any plans as of now. For many years we went to the casino for new years. However now that we are both retired our income is not what it use to be. We probably will not go there. May just go to kids house and pop fireworks with them and grandchildren.

Nope - I never go out for New Years - I feel like that is not a great night to be out and about. I rarely even make it up past midnight...

As of now, our New Years eve plans are a duplicate of the last "many" years - Staying safely at home watching TV.  It is so festive to watch others from our safe warm cozy little  home.  ;D

I truly believe that celebrating the beginning of a brand new year is a worthy endeavor.  For many it is good excuse for partying and getting inebriated.  Frankly, I don't like to start off a new year with a hangover.  So I will be staying home and celebrating with my family and probably be in bed before midnight.  Sadly, I haven't always been this sensible.

We won't have any reservations at restaurants or motels.  Plan to stay at home and just spend time with my husband.  Probably will make some popcorn and just watch TV.

Oh my goodness - I haven't even though of new years eve yet.  I'm still waiting to find out if I'm going to miss Christmas Eve service at church because of my work schedule.  It's so hard to schedule any sort of life in when ya work retail.

I don't think you could pay me enough to go out on New Year's Eve anymore.

But it's negotiable.   :-\

Just a quite dinner at home and maybe rent a movie that we agree on.  Don't like being on the streets with all the people drinking and you never know the weather will be.

no way,,,,  we stay home and watch it on TV.  If we want to have a drink we do in our own home and stay off the roads.
