Title: Webcam Surveys

Do you complete surveys where they ask you to use your webcam? Why or why not?

Personally, I don't. It isn't so much that I am worried how I look (I know that a computer is more likely to analyze the video than an actual human watching it), but I have a problem being in a space where it is well-lit and quiet enough to properly complete them.

No, because the images get retained and sold to other sites for use. in any way they see fit

I like the webcam surveys. They are usually easy to complete and I usually get credit although there has been an occasional mishap.

I did not know that the images are retained and sold. I do not like the sound of that.

I have tried them in the past, but I never qualify. I do also have security concerns, so I now typically stay away from webcam surveys.

Sometimes depends on how much the survey is worth and the length of time it takes to complete

I didn't do them at first but after awhile I thought what the heck? My curiousity got the best of me. I do not how ever do the voice recorded ones cause I hate what my voice sounds like  :)

I did one once when I couldn't qualify for PTC without it. Not sure I would have done that if I had already earned enough credits for the day. Sometimes I wonder what was done with the video the survey took.

I don't have a webcam so I never qualify.  I've found it enlightening to read about others' experiences completing them though.  However, I fall in the camp with those that have security or privacy concerns about it -- not paranoid, but have no regrets about missing out on these surveys.

I don't do them at all. They're are no longer private once you share them.

I do them but some of them can be tricky. You have to put yourself in the frame and complete a few tasks before completing the survey. Then if you move out of frame they make you do it again.

It took me a little while to get used to the whole webcam idea.  I do them from time to time.  For the most part, they have been successful for me. 

There have not been any know issues for me with webcam surveys.
