Title: Will you get the flu shot?
Post by: camellia0 on December 29, 2018, 03:07:57 am: On the news, they are saying that this should be taken soon because people are getting the flu. I think I may get mine today. It takes a while to take effect.

I can count on one hand how many times I have been sick and there is no garantee that you will not get the flu if you get the shot. I have seen more people who get the shot end up getting the flu anyway year after year.

Post by: linsanna on December 29, 2018, 10:54:39 am: My Grandfather was an very healthy and active senior when his doctor recommended a flu shot as a preventive measure after a few days of having the flu vaccine administered he was in the hospital with a serve flu. After a 3 week battle sadly my Grandfather passed away. I will never get a flu shot!

Post by: vickysue on December 29, 2018, 02:23:28 pm: Hubby and I both got one and get one every year. He is a sub. at school and I volunteer at ta charity. So he is around a lot of kids that do get them and I am around anywhere from 150 a day to only about 50 depending on what day of the month that they come in. Believe me they bring all of their snotty and sick kids in with them when they come in. Then touch all of the groceries they get then I have to pack them. I use hand wipes, Clorox wipes and hand santizers all day every day. But hat is still not enough . I get colds but no flu.

Post by: tantricia44 on December 31, 2018, 08:40:10 pm: I haven't taken a flu shot since i was 20yrs. old. I never had a problem until I took it again & got the flu afterwards. I decided never again & have been fine since I've stopped.

Post by: santa7 on January 01, 2019, 04:23:55 pm: Every Time I got the flu shot, I got sick for 3 days as if I had the flu. The last time, a few years ago, it made me sick for 2 weeks. Some of us can't take it. It's like we have a bad allergy to it.

Post by: mrsmere on January 02, 2019, 12:29:06 pm: I have had two many years ago and the same reaction could not move my arm for a week. I couldn't even comb my hair so I stopped taking them. I pray, eat onions and garlic and try to keep germs away.
