Do you think you USA is coming to a end?

Nothing lasts forever. No nation is on top forever. Look at the Roman empire, what are they doing now? The US has not been #1 in a lot of categories for a while. It may still be around but it won't be as powerful as it once was.

No, I do not. I feel we are a great country but as with everything, we need to work to improve.

No -.- They've said the same thing numerous times throughout our very short history. We still have one of, if not the, most powerful, organized military in the world. That in itself is enough to warrant our existence for the time being. We clearly have problems in the country, as every nation and every empire (if you wish to consider the US an empire) always has. The only people who think it's coming to an end are the people who want it to come to an end, for whatever reason...sadly a number of them are in this country.

I don't believe America will come to an end, at least not in our foreseeable future. We will go through many changes. We really need to adapt because of the globalization all the countries have gone through in the past 2 decades.
First we need to define what is America. I believe that America is about opportunities, democracy, organization, has law and order, a basic Constitution and several other factors for which to define this country I won't delve into for now.
So long as most of those qualities are in place, America isn't going anywhere.
We may go through outsourcing, challenging educational standards, drug wars and addictions, international policing, humanity issues and some other things like that, but the backbone of this country is still the same as it has been for the past couple hundred years. FREEDOM of speech, universal rights for all registered citizens, an organized honest financial system (for the most part ><) an the ability to utilize all the resources it takes to start from nothing in this country and literally overnight to create honest fortunes.
Any other country will have systems in place we wouldn't like, just like we have some here we don't like, (ie monitoring of our emails etc) but for fu*%& sake, there have to be some concessions on our part because of the complexity of the world today and the unbelievable amount of despots out there wanting to promote chaos and disorder, so we will need some sacrifices along the way to ensure our forefathers dream will live on for as long as we work to make it to.

not so much the country itself, but our freedoms are sure going down the drain, freedoms that are bad, as far as the country moving in a bad direction, as opposed to the freedoms we were founded on. :'(

Some girl kept trying to convince me that the dollar would soon be worth nothing and we'd soon be using a currency called the "amero." I tried to tell her that this was not true but she insisted because, "I saw it on a video on youtube!!"
My faith in humanity is coming to an end, but I don't think the US is anytime soon.

I myself am a marine wife and i don't see this nation coming to an end anytime soon. But with Obama in office we are gonna have some problems. I mean he just got a dang Noble Peace Prize and he hasn't done ANYTHING. It's people that think he is a freaking King that are ruining this country. Yes he is the first black president but i think it is funny they have yet to show us his birth certificate or that he is even a American Born citizen (being that is the only way to be president). I saw a clip on the news the other day where children where singing praise songs to him. Our country is definitely in some trouble but I don't think that it will end. I am just afraid that Obama is gonna go way to far with this and we are gonna have another JFK incident.
As for the huge military spending...that money has gone to other countries not us. My husband is a mechanic in the Marines and their budget for his shop for a quarter is less than a cost of an engine. In one week they spend more than their budget. And you should be proud to live in this country where we are free and we have people SACRIFICE their lives so that we and our children can live a great life.

The award has been a joke and meant nothing for some time now. Yasser Arafat and Al Gore won it for *bleep*'s sake...it's just something else for Fox News to orgasm over.
As for the huge military spending...that money has gone to other countries not us. My husband is a mechanic in the Marines and their budget for his shop for a quarter is less than a cost of an engine. In one week they spend more than their budget. And you should be proud to live in this country where we are free and we have people SACRIFICE their lives so that we and our children can live a great life.
What other countries does it go to?
I am proud. I'm proud enough to recognize the improvements that need to be made in order for this country to retain its position at the top.

Belief is of no use in reality. It requires action, and action by the citizens -- the entity that is the nation and is the government. Things don't just "work out" without solid, organized action.

I am not proud to be a part of this Hell, but I am and it wasn't my choice, I didn't ask for life, I simply am just alive because someone brought me into the world.
Looking around at the world, I sometimes have to stop and think is all this worth it, is it worth bringing other people into the world? A lot of times the answer is NO.
I am very confused at how humans live their lives and think it is okay. I mean people die, die very horrible deaths for Americans to be so called "Free" I will never be proud of that, and will always just wonder why life has to be like this. I'm not happy about this "sacrifice" it is awful. That is one reason why I don't want children. I don't want my son to go thru hell so everyone else can sit back and reap the benefit.
I wish life was different, I wish humans were so advanced that we acted like Angels and behaved like Angels.

Actually the largest army is not always the one which exists the longest. For example what good is an army when your country is radioactive? Things have changed much since the days of fighting with swords or even guns and missiles, now is the ability to destroy the land in long term. The cold war taught us that the size of armies are no longer as important as the threat of mass destruction.
Not to mention that we have US troops working for the UN, and we have UN troops on US soil...

The money does NOT go to other countries for military spending, Military spending is for MILITARY spending, it does not include aid to other countries etc. The only way it goes to other countries is because we are always at war IN other countries. I agree that the men on the ground get the least of the money though and are often stuck fighting in Vietnam war era flac jackets due to the lack of accountability in the military and their accounting. They lost 2 trillion dollars in 2001... LOST it... then how many times have they been caught buying 20,000$ toilet seats? Cooking the books I think they call it... The money mostly ALL gets funneled directly to haliburton and blackwater etc. So private soldiers get HUGE pay increases and bonus's while those enlisted suffer. Then even haliburton overcharges the marines and other soldiers for their crappy food.

You do if you want a job... its mandatory ever since right after 9/11. I cant recall what the form is called, but anyone who got a job recently should know... it needs 3 forms of identification and gives you a list. Passport or birth certificate is one. As for needing his birth certificate, I find it strange the amount of money he spent to keep it secret... super strange, but I think its not as important as him doubling the troops in Afghanistan after promises to bring troops home...
I think the news just focuses on the birth certificate, because they do EVERYTHING they can to prove that anyone who opposes Obama's ideas are just racist. Everyone who is not racist loves Obama. haha, they do that at those Tea Parties too. they see hundreds of people, lawyers, private citizens, etc. all claiming they don't like the bailouts, or healthcare (depending on the rally) and the news will find one hick and do everything they can to make him look racist or maybe even find a real racist, and do all they can to prove that the entire rally is just racist. They do not ever try to get their message across, just marginalize and discount the entire rally as racist or ignorant children. Or people afraid of the word "socialism" etc. its the same tactic used when Bush was in office that claimed anyone who was against Bush was anti-American.
That's the difference between democrats and republicans... One says "your Un-American, your too liberal, you sympathize with terrorists" and the other says "your a bad man, you don't care about others, your racist" but both of them actually listen to what you say, or actually act on behalf of the people.. both boost up the number of troops dying for money on foreign soil while leaving our own soil unprotected and bankrupt.

The children were singing songs about numerous past US Presidents in addition to the song about Obama. Do you have a problem with them also singing songs about Lincoln or Washington? Why not? Because Fox News talking points didn't say anything about that, did they? Why not?

This is why I love the internet so much-- you get so many news stories from so many sources that you're left with making your OWN opinion rather than just shoving Fox news' story into your head. I always got a kick out of Bush's "you're either with us or you're against us" speech as those words in themselves are superiorly anti-american.

Lets just set back and see what China has planned for us! And yes our Freedom went down the drain a LONG time ago. Do some research on what freedom in the USA stands for and then see and realize how much of our freedom really does not exist any longer.

I think the USA will probably be around for a long time yet. But the American Republic that always was so great and strong, not much longer. Everything that America has meant is being given up by people who want the government to babysit them. Freedom, self-sufficiency, limited government with only the authority specified in the Constitution; no one seems to care about these any more. Take from the rich and give to the poor has always been a socialist slogan, and yet we see the supposedly free Americans supporting that. While our soldiers fight for freedom overseas, the people in this country are giving their freedom away without even a struggle. Not liking Obama does not make one racist, when we dislike him because he promises all the same things that Hitler promised. Obama is at the forefront of those who are dragging this country down into Socialism.
