Now that summer is coming, do you like/go on rollercoasters?
-
No, gave up roller coasters many, many, many, many years ago. I will do the sky lift and that's about it.
-
My daughter and I are waiting patiently for Cedar Point to open so that we can ride them all about three dozen times or more again this season!
-
When I was younger I used to like going on rollercoasters. I am going on 50 so now I leave the rides to the younger kids. I was actually 36 when I went on a ride at six flags :)
-
I don't go on roller coasters anymore. I am glad my kids are still young enough and I can enjoy the kiddy rides. I don't know what I am going to do when they are teenagers and don't have an excuse to ride kiddy rides anymore.
-
No way! Too risky!
-
I haven't been on a rollercoaster for a few years. But I used to love them.

So funny! As I read the previous responses, it is apparent that when we are younger we usually like to ride the coasters. Then they are fun, deliciously risky, and exciting. Definitely stimulates the adrenaline! However, somewhere, as you age, things change. Your perception of the risk as a delicious excitement changes to a list of all the things that can go wrong on such a ride. You decide you would rather take your risks where you might be able to control them better. And you can control whether you get on that coaster...or not!

I'm going to agree with you to a point, but at the same time, I am the exception to your rule.
I was late into my high school years before I rode my first rollercoaster (so still young by any standards) and I loved it. While not 'old' by many standards - I suppose it depends on the perspective of the person. I'm not yet 50, but it's approaching rapidly and I've been riding rollercoasters off and on for over 30 years now. And I have to say that I enjoy them more now than I ever did at 18!
I have to also say that I feel much safer on a rollercoaster than driving down the highway. I know that is comparing apples to oranges, but it is true. With all of the safety inspections and safety equipment involved on the typical rollercoaster and the daily inspections that take place, the number of things that can go wrong on my car speeding down the road far outnumber the number of things that can go wrong on that coaster. Yes things can still go wrong, but they don't very often and when they do it is usually (not always but usually) because someone chooses to ignore the safety directions and does something foolish. While on the highway, I also have no control over all those other drivers around me.
I have no criticisms of those who are afraid of coasters or unwilling to take those 'risks'. My wife is scared to death of them and will only ride the tamest of the tame. But I hope to still be riding them when I am 80 and although I am in no rush to get there, I am excited to see what new and improved designs and layouts are in store 30 years down the road!

Getting psyched up for opening day in just over a month! Any fellow coaster nuts out there = you must get to Ohio and ride Steel Vengeance! I'll try to save a spot in line for ya if you let me know when you're coming!

I have to I am not a roller coaster fan. my son loves them.
-
No. I use to. I remember I would ride them but didn't want to go upside down and my aunt knew this and when I was about 15 got me on one at the beach and just as it started to roll forward said oh it only has 2 loops. And NO I didn't notice before hand. I don't know why people think it is funny to trick people.
Anyway, I use to like them and may still ride one but lately a lot of people are getting hurt where they are not properly maintained and they jerk me around too much.
-
Yahoo, good for the heart lol. I don't know about the brain stem lol love roller-coasters. I rode one that you stood up yup what a ride.
-
Yes! I plan on going on a new roller coaster at Knott's Berry Farm this month... so excited :)
-
You bet! However, I haven’t gone on a rollercoaster for many years now.
-
I can't stand them! Way to risky!
-
No way... I do not like rollercoasters, they are too risky

Hello! :D :)
Who needs a rollercoaster when you got life? Life is the ultimate roller coaster with unexpected twists and turns. Just hold on and try to live your best life. :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:

No, I have long passed that season in my life, I get dizzy just watching people go up and come down on those rides :)
-
YES! I love rollercoasters! I haven't been on any for a few years, but I'm hoping to this summer at our local amusement park. I can't do the spinny rides though. No one wants to be around those results. :-X
-
It depends on the coaster, some I ride other's I don't.
-
I use to like them when I was a teen. However as an adult I hate them. I also hate seeing the news when people get hurt from them.

It has been many years that I have ridden a roller coaster. I haven't been to an amusement park so no chance to ride one.
-
Yes, but not ones that are too extreme
-
I never liked roller coasters but now that I have kids I have no choice BUT to like them b/c I have to go on the rides with them.
-
I am slightly scared of heights but once I go on a rollercoaster, I think it's fun.
-
I also hate seeing the news when people get hurt from them.
Not saying that I like to see that sort of thing on the news either, but so many other things that people take for granted are so much more dangerous.
-
Never really cared for them. Did them when the kids were younger but not anymore.
-
I don't like to go on roller coasters no matter what season it is. That is because I don't like getting scared out of my tree for no reason or what's worse, to pay for that experience. Scary!
-
I have not been on a rollercoaster in so so very long. The last time I was it was a Great Adventure in New Jersey. I had a really nice time and got in for free.
-
Heck yes! I miss them.
-
it's been a while since I was at a park where I could ride one but I do love them.
-
Well, I used to like roller coasters. But the recent rash of incidents leaves me a bit hesitant to want to ride them again.
-
i love rollercoaster especially those at cedar point. i hope to go this year

    Best place to ride the best coasters! Opening Day is less than one month away! With my wife and daughters, I am the only one in the family who cannot spend my birthday at Cedar Point - but I am usually able to see the light at the end of the winter tunnel on my birthday. So I live with it and wait for the final few weeks to tick away.
With the weather and temperature uncertainty still going on this time of year on the Lake, I probably wouldn't have a lot of fun going to Cedar Point in mid April anyway.
Hope you make it over this year. Give mw a shout out if you do, and I'll save you a spot in line!

I always rode all of the Roller Coasters when I was younger. Since I am older now and I have Back Problems now, I tend to stay away from Roller Coasters and other Rides that jerk you all around.
-
I like riding rollercoasters, but unfortunately every time I ride one I get sick as a dog. My daughter and I were at Kings Dominion and we rode the Volcano and as soon as we got off I got sick.
-
i can't handle even doin hills in my car , i hate them rides and any thing high in the air.
-
No I am not a roller coaster person - I love Disney but I am more into the rides that go slowly through neat scenes like Pirates of the Caribbean.
-
I like rollercoasters that loop and go fast. I don’t like the ones that go really high.
-
I do - I used to be afraid of them, but not anymore....though I don't go crazy for them either
-
I hate them. That's not fun. That's pain. Liked them when I was a kid though.
-
Nope no way will I get on one. Would not like my lunch ending u[ on some one on the ground. They make me so sick. Been on one twice, the first and the last time.
-
I love rollercoasters
-
I occasionally like to go on rollercoasters but I am not a huge enthusiast like some.
-
I may go on a roller coaster this summer. My family and I are going to Lego Land for two days. I cannot wait. Last year we went to sea world and had a blast.
-
Not a fan of roller coasters.
-
It's been years since I rode a roller coaster. I think I'll just let that one go by. I'm more of a both feet on the ground person. :)
-
Did those risky rides when I was younger...I don't care for them now. They're a lot of fun though
-
I don't like rollercoasters, because I think it is dangerous for your health.
-
Heck yeah! I'll basically ride any rollercoaster. I do worry my tolerance for them is getting lower though as I'm getting older. Wahhhhh. :(

But as technology improves the rides are getting smoother and smoother! The days of the chiropractors handing out business cards at the ride exit gates are over (unless of course, you are riding one of those old woodies voluntarily).
