I do not buy lottery tickets. My ex-husband was a big gambler and blew a lot of our savings on various forms of gambling.

Our state uses the lottery money for wildlife preserves, roads when the state has no funding and other educational things. I don't feel bad about a dollar ticket and can also get a chance to win really big money. Investigate where your lottery money goes and you'll support this. It's not like casino gambling where a corporation gets the profits.

Wow! I'd be really upset! I don't play anymore but if I did, I would have won $100 on Treasure Hunt, a couple $$ on Match 6, and $1 on Cash 5. I have't played the Pick 3 in a couple years and since then, my 2 numbers have come up a dozen times. I know as soon as I would play, they'd never come up until I stopped playing them again. Just no luck when I play.

Not if you believe gambling is wrong. It is gambling and just as wrong as any other kind of gambling.

The stories about crooks who steel rolls of tickets but still don't win, really makes me wonder who the real crooks are.

There are many very poor people standing in line to buy lottery tickets hoping for something that will change their lives for the better. Heartbreaking. :'(
The lottery is a way for a few to get very rich while preying on the gullible and desperate. :angry7: Does this sound familiar?

No offense, but I think that's why people continue to play. All those close calls.
It matches the definition of insanity: Doing the same thing over and over with the hope of a different outcome.
Meanwhile, you're losing money and still hoping for the best. You'd probably end up with more if you tried saving your money instead. I'm just sayin'. Just call me Debbie Downer if I burst your balloon.
