I would probably answer this post, but I don't really understand it. :dontknow: I don't know what you're trying to say.
Care to try again for more coherence?

I liken it to some posts here. But the difference is to achieve the goal of 30 posts and get paid for it,whereas on FB you look to get "likes"

;D love this

It is hard to understand what you are trying to say.
-
I have to agree with the others here. What are you trying to say?

Guys, I think that the post is talking about people on FB who hear sirens in their town and immediately get online to ask what is happening.
i.e. Karen makes a post on FB "just heard a bunch of police going through town - anyone know what's going on?"
Could be wrong, I suppose. But if I am right, I don't really find them annoying. They're a little nosy, sure, but I think we all can be sometimes. Lol.

You figured out what they were trying to say. I get it now.

FB needs to curve the hate speech on their site, this would be a good start...

what is happening in Hammond Louisiana

No one around my area knows what's going on anymore because the police changed their radio frequency to ones that no one can scan so we're all in the dark. My scanner is useless and that bums me out. I used to flip it on when I heard the fire sirens but I'm always too late to hear the address and I don't want to have it on 24/7.

I like to go on FB to find out what is going on in my town there is a special feed for local stuff
-
Yeah and their is even specific Facebook groups for towns to see what is going on and specific checkpoints as well.

I think a good start for FB would be to stop pushing one political agenda while silencing another. But that's just one humble opinion.
-
I think facebook is nothing but drama, and is sad because it's supposed to be for family's and fun
-
FB is having to defend itself more and more against the naysayers....
-
People put a lot of things on Facebook that don't need to be on there. family issues, pics that aren't for all eyes, like young innocent eyes, they say rude and harsh things without regard to others feelings, I don't like FB, I have people i know on there, but I don't follow up with their posts or conversations.

Facebook, like many social media platforms, can be great in terms of improving and maintaining contact with family and friends. But goodness, it can also be horrible in the way of reducing the need for physical interactions and, in the case presented by the OP, constant play-by-play events.
-
I honestly don't hate Facebook. While I do use it to follow some people (mostly people I know in real life), I am fortunate to see they behave themselves or just don't post that much. I will admit, however, there was one friend that was getting obnoxious and picking fights with people. In that case, I changed my settings so I would not see that friend's comments but still follow them. If it gets to the point of threats or spam, I can always unfriend them.
Nevertheless, I use Facebook mostly as a news feed - particularly video games, comics, TV shows (including anime), and movies. When it comes to posting, it doesn't happen too often. However, I do like clicking on the Like button with posts I like and selecting emoticons (more often that not, someone else typed a post that shared my feelings on a subject so it saves me from typing as much.) I feel level headed enough to not feel ashamed of what I post or like. It's not like I'm embarrassed to be a fan of Plants vs. Zombies or Dragonball Z.

Sometimes I think that almost everyone I am friends with on Facebook is a comedian. Almost all my friends post funny things everyday.

I think it is more funny when people have several accounts and try to post so that people do not realize it is the same person.

About as foolish as when people make 30 accounts and then talk to themselves in public forums. LOL

I do not do Facebook. But I also do not think it is being nosy to want to know what is going on if something is happening in your area. Not long ago there were multiple police cars in the area, police walking around screaming at a suspect, guns were drawn. People in the area have a right to KNOW what is going on and if they could be in danger.

They can't change it to something no one can scan. You just have to get the new frequency and those are all posted online. I do agree some people take things to an extreme with wanting to monitor the police and it can get the police hurt or cause problems for them. If they do not want anyone to know what they are doing they talk on their cell phones.

No it was orig for college kids. There is not any one thing Facebook is "suppose to be". YOU may want to use it for keeping in touch with family or for fun. But people use it to get their voice out there. It IS a lot of drama. I deleted it a few years back. I know things at church they put on Facebook and when you don't know what is going on there is one woman who always snarls well it was on Facebook. smh.
I remember a family member a long time ago was crying on facebook about not having a job and she had no money and didn't know how she could buy groceries. Then 2 days later she posted a pic of a steak dinner and the name of the steak house she was eating at. And all I an think is you don't know how you will buy milk and bread this week but you can drop $20 on a steak dinner???

See that is what gets me. The same people who are on Facebook trashing somebody else or "shaming" them as people like to say are the first to cry about their kid getting bullied. Who cares? You are a bully. SO don't get upset when it happens back to you.
As far as pictures not for young eyes. Young eyes do not need to be on Facebook. I have seen kids as young as 8 with Facebook accounts.
I also remember a few years ago a girl put a big rant on FB that was vague but trashing family. Somebody asks her what is wrong and she is like "oh it's personal" well Buifhiagaioio WHY did you put it on Facebook!
-
I quit Facebook back in 2011. I can't handle the drama, too much of that. Not for me :bad: ::)
-
I check Facebook most days, but rarely post anything personal. Some folks post every day it seems. I can't keep up.
-

I completely agree, too much drama. I rarely get on FB anymore.
-
I'm assuming the OP is saying how ridiculous Facebook has become. That, maybe, the nonsensical opening post is indicative of how you typically tend to find nonsensical posts on Facebook.
-
This is the very reason why I do not put any drama on my Facebook, nor do I comment on the drama of others on Facebook. I intend to stick with the original intent of the website, which is to keep in touch with close family and friends.

And to keep in touch with family and friends you have to post things. What is going on in your life. Which some others would consider drama.
-
I think that FB is getting too large, they need to break it up....
-
Facebook can get too personal sometimes and dramatic
-
I don't bother anymore. I was active there when I was younger but now when I log in it's all ads, inflammatory political posts, and people I've long since lost touch with except for the digital formality. I only keep the account in case there's some reason I desperately need to be able to contact someone I went to school with 16 years ago lol.

That is the best thing to do. I agree

As I mentioned in an earlier post in this thread, I strictly use Facebook to keep up with friends and family. Unfortunately, between the COVID-19 pandemic, widespread racial unrest, this moronic presidency, and the looming election, it is SO difficult not to get sucked into the political drama. Also, I nearly un-friended some people because they insist on using Facebook to spread their controversial political dribble. At the very least, in order to preserve the friendship, I simply block them from my news feed for 30 days.

I automatically go to messager when I click on Facebook don’t know why.

I have been on Facebook for over 10 years but for the past couple of years I decided to be more active and proactive. I know a lot of people complain about "negativity". But I have to sya that for the most part, my encounters with others have been very pleasant and productive. Although, I use Facebook mainly for my work-at-home purposes.
-
I understand you like no one else, for a long time I tried to start myself on my business account, but everything was even. But my friend advised me to buy Buzzoid Instagram followers (https://buzzoid.com/buy-instagram-followers/). And it worked. People began to trust me and buy my goods from me. Now I periodically buy them so that the number of subscribers grows even faster.
-
I have a secret FB account for news only. Entertainment, and the hobbies only.
-
It's pretty sad when people post things about you that they wouldn't say to your face. It's so cowardly and mean. >:(
Some people take it so hard and even start believing it. Some have even resorted to killing themselves.
There is no reason for being that unkind. :( Like; never ever!!

So you get a free massage? Cool! Just kidding. I think you meant messenger. Did you see the red squiggly lines?
