Some mosquitos in parts of the U.S. are carrying a virus that can kill people within days.
Eastern Equine Encephalitis, or EEE, is extremely rare but incredibly deadly virus, with a mortality rate of 30 percent. Health officials are warning residents in parts of New Jersey, Michigan and Massachusetts to avoid outdoor activity during dusk and dawn.

If it is in the United States it can be in any state in the country.

This is one of those times that the state and Federal need to get together and spray the heck out of them and try to get rid of them before they spread all over the U.S. But then how often do you even see a government person even wanting to make a bill to protect the American public.

I read about that virus a few days ago. It is very scary. Mosquitos carry a lot of deadly diseases. I wish they would just go away because there is only so much you can do to avoid getting bit.

With man cutting down rainforest, woods, natural habitats,.... is one of the main reasons why these virus & diseases, spewing out of the wood work! We wouldn't have discovered the AID'S virus had man just left the forest alone. Right now the Amazon's burning out, releasing, unknown bacterium,viruses, deadly disease causing pathiagenes are set free. Making the Amazon green house effect Helper!

Well that's kinda scary. So glad that I don't live in that region of the United States. Hopefully it stays rare and there aren't any new cases of it. Or maybe some kind of treatment will be created to lower or prevent the mortality rate. Wishing the best for the people in those states.

Gosh mosquitos are so annoying biting and biting you I was wondering if they pass on diseses too. Well here goes my answer. Thanks for the info!

I used to love to go out in my back yard and read in a pergola my hubby built for me, but this summer I hardly did that at all because I was so afraid of getting bitten by one of those mosquitos.

I worry about 2 of my granddaughters who get bitten every time they go outside, one of them gets welps. It is scary. We have tried multiple precautions but nothing works

If these mosquitoes are in these areas, they could very easily move to other areas if not brought under control quickly. As the conditions of the planet change, it is very likely that things will evolve to bring new challenges. Disease is just one of the things that can easily evolve and need to be dealt with. Sorry to say, but we may not always be able to deal with such challenges easily.

I fear no mosquito i use easy off repelent that works pretty well and sometimes in the backyard this special candle that repels them as well
