Have you tried AT&T? We have them and I'm not their biggest fan but we didn't have much choice.

The service has been fine and it's $70 per month. I used to pay lots less with Charter but they don't have it where I'm living now.

The first thing I would do is a Google Search for "Internet Service xxxxx" where xxxxx is your zip code.

I hate to say it but Xfinity has been very good for internet. I hate Xfinity and always have trouble with their TV service, but never with the internet.  My contract runs out next month and I'm cutting the cord to their TV service, but I might keep the internet. I'm thinking about giving up my landline, too, because I get only robocalls anymore (no family alive anymore). I have a cell phone but never use it because it's a flip phone and horrible. I only use it for emergencies and when I'm in the hospital.

We had Comcast Xfinity for a couple of years when we first moved here, but switched to Frontier Fiber for double the speed (500 Gb/sec) at half the price and better tech support. Then installed a Google Mesh so there are no more dead spots in our house. We also went with Hulu Live TV and it's awesome for $45 a month.

We propbably can't get Frontier here. There's a monopoly on TV/Internet/ and even cell phones. I've checked with most services for TV, internet, and cell phones.  At the time, none of them were available in my area even though they advertised on TV. it was Comcast/Xfinity or none. As for Xfinity, depending on the support people you talk to, a lot of them lie like crazy. I've been told I can't downgrade, can't get a new box (because I've been fighting with them for a year because of the problems I was having. One told me  it was my box, the other said no problem with it. After arguing with them over a year, I threatened to go to the FEC, or FCC, or any government oversight department and place a complaint...Well, I should have done that a year before!  They certainly jumped to fix my problem. Got a new box and no more problems with TV.   Before I "got no respect." Now they show respect, but unless I get a great deal for a new contract, I'm going. I'm just about ready for ROKU. Sling has  most of the programming we watch.

Now Xfinity has taken TCM away from us and placed it in the Sports and Entertainment package which you need to pay an extra $9.95 month. Loved TCM but am not paying. Over 10K complaints on their site about it being moved. TCM is movies, not sports and not entertainment. Somebody needs an education in definitions.   >;(

I don't know if we have talked too much about it on here or anywhere. But, what are towns/cities that have more than 2 or 3 electric companies? Does anyone know anything about this? In my town, I just noticed there is one main electric company, called Mon Power, which does not service my apartment and then I noticed in town there is another electric company called Xfinity, usually a cable, telephone, etc. provider, but not electricity. Since this is not my electric company, then I am guessing there are at least 3-4 companies in town. I was told a name that I think may be fake as my electric company though. But, 4 seems quite unusual?! How do I find out how many electric companies are in a town? And especially when the town is basically one town but really many small towns? I guess some of these towns might be considered rural even if not really out on a traditional rural route like a post office might label things. I guess I have a few things to consider. How do I know if my town was selected for some type of "Federal" funding or "special" funding electricity energy program? I heard some areas nearby may have gotten high speed cable fiber optics or something related to Internet? Hm.... This is kind of a big junk for a post to be meaningful to get "money" from Fusion Cash. Got to think some more.

We have AT & T and pay $57.00 a month.  There is a faster internet speed available also for $67.00 a month but we don't stream shows or play graphic games so we don't need it.

We have Frontier 500 mb/s for $45 a month with no bundling (Internet only) and no problems. We did buy a Google Mesh to cover the entire house with wi-fi, but we own it with no monthly payment and we have 15 devices hooked up.

A Google Mesh is a system to extend the reach of your Wi-Fi to cover your whole house with no dead spots. If you think of a window screen that covers the entire opening of your window, it's that kind of coverage (only in 3D for multiple floors). We have a 3 story house with over 4,500 sq ft and 3 units (plus the router) does the job (about a $300 one time cost). Since I use a Smart TV that uses Wi-Fi it covers that too (no more buffering). IN fact we have 4 smartphones, 6 tablets, 8 computers / laptops, a Ring device on the front door, a few Echo devices often all running at the same time.

Have you considered stealing your neighbors internet?
I would only consider that, if I had the logon (and permission) to my neighbors Google mesh.. but then it would not be stealing, would it?

Have you considered stealing your neighbors internet?

Used to do it all the time until you needed a password to connect and then I was out of luck.

What bundle does Comcast/Xfinity offer at $40? I just got my new bill- for triple play-$216 and change. Supposed to be 100 Mbps but I never get on 50 download and 5 upload. Now starting to have problems with internet and phone dropping but that's probably because of everyone being home.

I had the same problem until we switched to Frontier. You can't get higher than 5 upload unless you have Fibre (which Comcast does not have).

Here in NH we have Consolidated Communications, and although they "go out" sometimes, the Net works pretty well for our needs, the price is ok at about 75 dollars a month.
