Title: New Discovery Today
Post by: pstovall on November 18, 2019, 09:19:07 am
Today, when I was going through the PTC, I clicked on the "Today in History" portion and discovered that the names under the "Born this Day" and "Died this Day" sections had links attached to them.  Each name I clicked took me to  a Wikipedia page describing the person.  Many times in the past, when I have read this section, I have tried to recall details about the persons listed, without success.  Sometimes I "know" the name but can't remember where I know it from.  I can't believe I haven't noticed these links in over eight years.  I must not be very observant or is this something new?

I always click on "Today in History" but never noticed the links that you are describing. I will look for it tomorrow. I love Wikipedia.

Today in the "Died Today" section, there was only one name, *bleep* Wilson, born in 1916.  The name didn't ring a bell, so I clicked the link and found out he'd been in numerous TV series.  The article didn't include a picture, so I went in search of a picture to see if I could recognize him.  I DID recognize his picture and found out that he played Mr. Whipple in the old Charmin commercials. So my repertoire of trivia was expanded today through my PTC efforts.  FC can be educational!

Very interesting. I usually check that section too, and see if I recognize any names.  I loved Mr. Whipple.
