Title: Anyone liking Bloomberg?
Post by: sfreeman8 on February 19, 2020, 08:39:48 am
So far, he's offended women, blacks, Hispanics, farmers and factory workers. Tonight is his first debate. Wonder if he really wanted this. I'm so sick of seeing his political ads. Bernie and Warren are furious with him. Biden is sinking fast with the antics he's been pulling lately with his supporters..

I'm so sick of seeing his political ads.

If I have to see one more Bloomberg ad, I'm going to lose my mind. I haven't seen any other political ads but his, and they are on every single commercial break. UGH!

I am NOT a Bloomberg supporter, but have to say that most of the reactions painting him as anti-minority/farmer/factory worker are simply longer explanations being taken out of context.

He is far from pure as the wind driven snow, but the perceived slight against farmers was not a slight at all. If you listen to the full clip, he was explaining how it was for farmers for 3000 years before the advent of current technology and automation.

But leave it to Bernie and Biden and the rest to see a threat and misconstrue the threat's words to use against him.

I do not support Bloomberg, but he is getting a raw deal in these latest attacks from other Democrats.

He said: “Then we had 300 years of the industrial society. You put the piece of metal on the lathe, you turn the crank in the direction of the arrow and you can have a job. And we created a lot of jobs. At one point, 98 percent of the world worked in agriculture, today it’s 2 percent in the United States. I can teach anyone how to be a farmer: 1, dig a hole' 2, put a seed in; 3, put dirt on top; 4, add water; 5, up comes the corn Now comes the information economy and the information economy is fundamentally different because it’s built around replacing people with technology and the skill sets that you have to learn are how to think and analyze, and that is a whole degree level different. You have to have a different skill set, you have to have a lot more gray matter.”

Well, didn't he say that it doesn't take a lot of brain matter to be a farmer?

So, yes, he has insulted farmers since they rely on information and technology to grow more food and be more productive by using weather data, new technology, agricultural sites, etc. They aren't the farmers of the 20th century but he thinks farmers still pracitce the ways from 3000 years ago.

I'm not a fan of Doomberg. He's an authoritarian, elitist know-it-all.

Well, I did feel sorry for the little guy getting blasted by the evil Elizabeth Warren, so I don't dislike him, but I'm definitely not a supporter of his. And he did not know how to debate or defend himself with the onslaught he received.  :-[

I'm not appreciating how he buys everybody he's for in politics but at least he's honest enough to say he does it.  So I do kind of like him for that. :moneymouth:

I thought he would have faired better.

I thought he was a better mayor after 9/11 then Rudy claimed to be during 9/11.

I guess this is a moot point now, but I am SO Happy he dropped out. Now with Bernie gone too, I am guessing the Dems are putting poor ol' Biden in there just to oust him later (if he wins, which he probably will not).

Lots of things can happen in 7 months.

What I find troubling is that someone like Liz Warren would completely attack Bloomberg during a debate over sexual harassment allegations -trying to discredit him; yet, she makes excuses for Joe Biden and the credible but to be fair not yet proven sexual allegations made against him - simply because she wants the chance to be Biden's running mate.

The philosophy of Believe All Women is such absolute hypocrisy when spouted by prominent Democrats. It should be called: "Believe All Women who levy accusations against Republicans or my own rivals, but label all women liars who levy accusations against my allies."
