Hi Folks what is the deal with the offers that want your cell phone.. Do they charge you the 9.99 right away? or can you cancel before they do...
-
I wish someone would have answered you. I was wondering the same thing. I'm sure once you activate the service they will charge you. But I would like to know from someone who has completed it.
-
Not ignoring you. I just don't do those so I can't answer. I must be the only person on the face of the planet that still has limited minutes and texting. I am not a big phone talker.
-
YES THEY DO charge you right away, I learned that the hard way!! Hope that helps.

sorry, but i do appreciate the input.

They charge you as soon as you enter your cell phone number. I speak from experience. I won't do a cell phone offer again. :(
-
I don't know about right away, but the charge will be on that months cell phone bill. And you have to be careful, because some of them are "services" that will continue to charge you once a month if you don't cancel. :BangHead:
Make sure that you ALWAYS read the fine print on these offers that ask you to input any information other than your opinion.

Yes they charge, thats the very reason I dont do them,,,,, anymore anyway.
-
I never did one of these, because I read the fine print and I realized that they charge the phone bill immediately. Also when I use my cell phone number for other offers I put it in as my home phone (which it is, because that's my primary phone I use at home), because otherwise if they know its a cell phone they give it out to companies that specialize in sending spam as text messages. I don't have a data plan, so I get charged for every text message I receive or send.

This is good info. I've always wondered the same. I will stay away from these type offers.

do you neeed to confirm something via your cell phone in order to get charged, like confirmation code. I dont wanna sign up for something like this on accident.

They charge you instantly.
-
They charge you right away and it is very hard to cancel - may take months and then good luck on trying to get you money back,

not sure what carrer you have for a cell phone but after using many cell phone carriers I got tired of it the contracts the taxes and all the other bull crap they charge you for so went along using prepaids and that was no better till I came across the (((boost mobile))) it's a prepaid phone owned by sprint nextel you can go by the 10 cents a min or you can go on a unlimited plain flat out $50 a month the phones you can get a cheep starter phone for $28 on up to $100 or if you have any of the I model nextel motorola phones that takes the sims card all you have to do is call up boost mobile and give them the imei number in side were the battery sits and use your old phone then i think a sims card is only like $5 -$10 but as far as the plain goes its pretty cool for $50 flat a month no contract at all no taxes or hidden fees you get unlimited talk time 24/7 unlimited text messaging unlimited internet on the phone and unlimited walkie talki witch is keying over to some one alses handel all you do is pay the $50 up front for each month and at any point if you dont have the full $50 and only have like $25 you call them up and tell them to put you on by the minute i tested them up and switched to the minutes used $5 of the $25 then added $30 and called back up same day again to go back on the $50 unlimited everything reception is great hardly ever get droped calls

I wouldnt do the cell phone offers cause i dont want no high bill

My cell phone is low on balance, so I don't do this anyway, but we gave my husbands number once, and we didn't think nothing of it, till a place took 10.00 from his phone, they were going to do this monthy too, we about never got it sorted out, then they sent him a 10.00 check for the money and no one would cash it, because they never heard of the place, so we were out 10.00, and he needed the money on there for his job.
-
:o thanks! now i know, i'll stay far far away! when i finally get my cashout i'll try these pay up front type offers
-
I am just so skeptical about giving my cell phone number out on these offers. I do have limited messaging, but I like to keep my cell just for people I know. I have tons of junk email coming in as a result of some of these other offers, so I can imagine how many other places would start texting me a lot of crap...
-
I have a Go Phone that is active but doesn't have any minutes on it that I give out for the offers. They take the phone because it is registered and active, but they can't call or text it. The offers that required you to put in a pin number I just skipped.
Word of warning! Some companies WILL sell or share your phone numbers! I gave out my land line number once and had people calling within the next day! Be sure to put your number on the National Do Not Call Registry: https://www.donotcall.gov/ . If you haven't heard of this registry before you should check into it! Numbers placed on the Do Not Call Registry will not receive calls fro telemarketers. This law went into place in February of 2008. The registry is good for both home and mobile phones.
