My county in PA is almost surrounded by those with the virus. Last night there was 96 in the state, by noon today there was 133. Along with Berks, where one case was reported, Lackawanna and York counties were added to the list with one and two cases respectively.
Previously the disease had been confirmed in Beaver, Bucks, Chester, Cumberland, Delaware, Lehigh, Luzerne, Monroe, Montgomery, Northampton, Philadelphia, Pike, Washington, and Wayne counties. There have been 1,187 cases with negative results.
Grocery stores are opening later and devoting the first hour to 1-1/2 hours to the immune depressed and elderly. That's kind of them but Hubby doesn't get up that early and I can't drive so....<sigh> Guess son's girlfriend will be doing the running. He's compromised with heart as is hubby and me with remission and diabetes.
-
I am in the same situation heart and diabetes. I hate this - not that everyone doesn't. I wish our store did that with the elderly but like your husband I am not a early riser. I put on a mask and gloves when I go and it is hot hard to breath torture.
-
we now have a 8 month old that has the virus and we have 35 cases now in KY the mayors wife has it ! this is getting crazy we at the ministry have seen our numbers double in people needing help

I live in Minnesota. Here's the latest:
Wednesday, March 18: The number of reported COVID-19 cases in Minnesota has reached 77, according to the Minnesota Department of Health.
Cases have been reported in 16 counties. The state has performed 2,761 tests for the virus, according to MDH.
-
We live in Georgia and my kids are out of school and doing everything online as far as school work goes. School from home until March 31st. At least until then.
-
Gov newson ordered all Californians to stay at home. Do that anyway. Not sure if my daughter can take her kids to the park. Not seeing them this weekend hunkering down.
-
Virginia ids getting more by the day..
-
The numbers will continue to increase as more testing is done and as more people show symptoms...it's scary that our numbers are echoing what happened in Italy....I just hope it slows down and doesn't kill as many...

Hello! :) :D
It's amazing how fast the disease is spreading. It's quite scary actually. To think it all started with China. May we all be safe and stay well as much as possible mmmmm ya. :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:

They aren't expecting kids to go back to school this school year in Fayette Co., KY. My daughter had to get her room ready to close up for the year before she left on Wednesday. Praying they will get to go back in August. So much for our Hawaiian vacation in June... :'(

The governor of Illinois has ordered a shelter in place that starts today (Saturday) @ 5:00. Only necessary business such as grocery stores, pharmacies, gas stations, healthcare, hardware stores, restaurants for drive thru etc are allowed to be open. He is always looking for healthcare personnel that have left the field to come back and waiving all the license fees for them.

Yes, it is pretty frightening. I am in California and had to leave my Dad and husband in the hospital (no visitors allowed) for other things not the virus. My husband has come home now, but we have to be careful with him until his immunity has built up for anything. My dad will be there a couple of more weeks. He might be just as safe there as at home. It is scary how quickly this has spread. I am Native American and many of the tribes began to prepare for this the end of November when the reports first were coming out of China. I think that a lot of the Native Americans on the reservations and territories are better prepared than the rest of the country because they did jump on it so quickly and so soon. A lot of their borders were closed a while back to visitors and visitors there were asked to leave for the time being. Anyway, I hope we all stay safe and that the stay at home strategy works in curbing this. I also think they should not cancel all of the senior activities, just postpone then until this passes. Graduation and Prom are things they will remember forever. It seemed to last about 4 months in China.

This is all just so unreal.

Yes, Va's numbers are going up. There are cases in NC, Newport News, Va Beach, and isle of wight I think..
-
Yes it sure is getting closer. I'm in MT, so far we only have 20 cases and thankfully none in our county yet. But here's my daily quote from my FC daily email today, and remember, we are all in this together
"When you get in a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn."

I pray that this thing is over sooner than expected. the side effects are aweful, (job lost, not enough to pay bills, loneliness, etc)
-
Our county has gone from one to four cases with the first death in Ohio coming from our county.
Now an area doctor tested positive yesterday....how many people did he pass it to? ??? :o
-
Just did my PTC and saw in the entertainment section that Daniel Dae Kim (Hawaii 5-0, Lost) had caught it, while in NY filming. On his way back to Hawaii he developed a scratchy throat and within a few days, other symptoms appeared. He self quarantined except when he drove to a drive through testing area. He's doing much better now, thank goodness. I really like him.
-
I guess everyone is going to get their turn with the virus. It does not discriminate against anyone.

Dang, so sorry for the 1 death, that's one too many :( MT now has 27 cases, still pretty low, and most of those are said to be from people traveling internationally. Which just makes me scratch my head...why would you not cancel those plans, but maybe it just couldn't be helped, I don't know. No deaths here yet.

Oh I pray for that too, I am laid off, even though I only work part time, and unfortunately, cannot draw unemployment yet, so that stimulus money will sure help. Plus I just filed my taxes last week, getting some back there too. I have very few bills so that's quite helpful. I rent a room from my sister, she owns the place, so not lonely, although I'm pretty much a loner anyhow, wouldn't bother me too badly. I'm thankful we have (well) water, heat, food, and can still go outside, as the weather has been nice here.

Latest Update in Minnesota:
Total of 235 confirmed cases in 31 Minnesota counties. One of these is just one county away.
Since the start of the outbreak, 21 patients have been hospitalized in the state.
Currently 12 patients are hospitalized with five in intensive care.
Our Gov. Tim Walz will self-quarantine for two weeks after learning Monday he'd been in contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19.

I've seen lots of people wondering whether the virus hit the USA earlier than we think. I had a wicked flu recently that I'm now wondering if it could have been covid. A couple weeks before that my family took a trip to see the grand canyon and I remember wondering why the vast majority of tourists around us were asians wearing face masks. Now that I check my calendar, that was a couple days before the travel restrictions were announced. :/

After listening to the radio today, I am once again feeling suspicious of the whole thing. Not that there isn't a virus, but relating to how we're responding to the threat in this particular manner. There does seem to be more here than meets the eye. Since China is the instigator here and wants to cripple our economy so that they can be the most prominent power, this would be doing the job proud.
I've heard that this is the first time we've had to resort to closing all small businesses to slow the spread which may be designed to close them all permanently. And when I think about it, I believe that. We've had these kinds of scares before and we didn't shut everything down to combat it. Our economy will have a tough time recovering now even though I believe it will. Pray for Trump if you pray. I pray for him every day.
Has anyone else heard this? The whole is fascinating and horrible at the same time. It makes me terribly confused about the whole thing. Whom do you believe?

Hiya! :) :D
I really hope the virus stop spreading so things can go back to the way they were. We really need to put everything into perspective and work together. I don't want too many people not to make it into 2021. :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:

You can also go to the doctor, pharmacy to pick up meds and to the bank as well as gas station. People do not understand what stay at home or safer at home or even lock down means. You can still go quite a few places.
-
It is already happening. The only thing we can do to stop the spread of this virus is to do what the public health department wants us to do.
-
It's here now. Knew it wouldn't be much longer to hit our county. Since my first post, we have jumped to 13, no deaths yet, but in the whose state as of yesterday, there have been 16 deaths.
I love the way the media calls it a surge in the spread of the virus. It's not surging...there are just more test kits so more people are being tested so of course, the numbers are going up. Then they say we have topped the rest of the world in cases. Well, maybe it's because we have 350+ million people in the U.S., compared to other countries. China has billions but I don't believe they are being truthful in their counts. They lie about everything else.

Great statistics for a pandemic we were told is nothing more than the flu? One person is dying, in New York, from corona virus every 17 minutes per Fox News.More than a third of America's 102,702 known cases are in New York per CNN. Corona case counts have topped 590,000 world wide per the Associated Press. The United Kingdom is hoping to keep deaths under 20,000 per the BBC. Italy corona virus cases are raising by around 542 instances per day per Reuters. And all of this came, potentially, form a bat in Wuhan per Healthline.com. Personally I have been instructed to work from home (day time job) until further notice and I am enjoying my time away from the office. My night time job was already out of my home office so nothing different there. My third job is off limits till further notice.
-
We have one reported case in our county that I know of. I heard that a few days ago. But, what really brought it home to me is having two friends, a married couple, who both have it in a neighboring county. The man has been in the hospital several days and is struggling to hang on. His wife is at home and experiencing more symptoms daily. All prayer warriors please add Judd and Rebecca Byler to your list.

We were not told this is nothing more than the flu. Some idiots were saying that but official sources said it was more the whole time. People are comparing it to the flu. SOME will have very mild symptoms like a minor cold and some will be severe and die. Look how many get the flu every year and look how many die. We do not social distance for that.

I'm not an expert on testing for this virus but with the wide spread panic in each state, I wonder how accurate these results are since this virus' symptoms are so close to the characteristics of other virus' such as the flu, & other virus' similar to it.

With this Virus, I think most states has people who have been affected. It's scary and for some, making being inside all the time is not fun.
