Title: The Salon Owner from TX has been released from jail
Post by: sfreeman8 on May 07, 2020, 01:12:22 pm
Gov. Abbott said no one who defies the order to stay closed should not be put in jail. The woman stood strong against the judge who called her selfish just because she needed to earn a living to feed her kids. The judge wanted her to apologize to HIM and she wouldn't do it so he gave her a $7000 fine and 7 days in jail. That judge was pure ignorant. It's no skin of his nose to sentence her like that. He has plenty of food and money. Some judges need to be taken down a few pegs. They're acting like they're the boss and have unlimited power.  >:(

I hope she gets COVID 19. Open stores too early will get the virus & they will shut it down again!

I agree with linderlizzie, the woman was amazing to stand her ground and did not back down. Now salons will be open in TX. People need to get back to work. We all need money to live, don't want to have to rely on the government for help.

People are stupid if they are going to rush to these shops.  Getting your hair done is more important than your health?  I guess they care that their hair looks nice in their coffin.

There's nothing to be proud about this issue. Two or more wrongs don't make a right! The Judge was wrong for charging her in the amount she can't ever come up with no job & jail time she can't afford to waste time on. She was wrong for not following regulations in which could endanger people around her. The law was wrong for having her go to court, endangering her, the people working there etc,.......!!!!!!!!!!! They should have come up with a different kind of solution in which it didn't endanger anyone!

I do not understand why "beauty and nail salons and barber shops" were considered non-essential
businesses. They are part of community public health and personal hygiene. Can you imagine what can happen when your hair is not washed and nails are not clean? It does not make any sense why
they wanted them closed. This Lady did what in her heart she felt it was the right way to proceed:
Provide community health services and provide for her family. Next time public officials should keep
these facts in mind when making decisions that affect the general public.

I don’t want to start a fight or major discussion, but can’t people wash their own hair and do their own nails?  I wash my hair every day and do my own nails.

I don't know anyone who walks around with dirty hair or unclean nails just because beauty salons aren't open.  They are not essential.  You will die if you don't eat, grocery stores are essential.  You won't die if you don't perm or dye your hair or even wash it for two months.

Did she really think she would not be caught having people in her salon ???  What an idiot.  Serves her right for not abiding by the rules of her state.  pay the fines and stay out of jail and open up when you allowed to.  People when you take a shower or bath wash your own hair and blow dry it, it isn't that hard !!

You all make me laugh. If you dont have any $$$$ coming in how would u react?

The punishment didnt fit the crime. The judge didnt dig the talk-back.He shoulda turned the other cheek and gave her ample time to get out and understood many are under panic here.

We have all seen lessser punishment on REAL criminal acts.

Id love to see this judge get a taste of his own medicine and thrown off.

I understand, but the law is the law
I was talking about understanding and compassion......NOT the law.

Did Jesus say he who is without sin, throw the first stone when a prostitute was about to get stoned by a mob?

Maybe someone should send this judge that passage.

What do you if don't have money for groceries? That's the decision the people who want to open up businesses are facing.

Well, I hope you don't get the virus now because you wished it on someone else. Shame on you.

Fear has obviously gotten the better of you.  :monkey:

I really wish they did not release her...... Its a risk and people are encouraging it, Then again if your dumb enough to go to a salon during this time by all means go for it just keep away from my part of the area.

When did executive orders become law? Laws are made by the legislatures. These governors have gone too far in my opinion. Placing healthy, law-abiding citizens under house arrest is perverse.

I understand the why, but was it really necessary for the person to go to jail?  I see people breaking the social distance rules everyday.  People are still having parties and they are not getting arrested.

And, if she did, she would probably have cold like symptoms and BE FINE!!!!  It has a 98% recovery rate people!!! Good grief.  Get a grip!
