I can relate I worked at a call center for seven years and hated all but one year when I wasn't on the phones.  A lot of the time we got yelled at because of the lies the telemarketers told just to get the sale.

Pretty much anything that involves customer service. I should know, LOL. I mostly dealt with a lot of rude customers, so it ruined the experience for me. Thankfully, I did not hold that job for too long.

I have never done telemarketing, but I have had a bit of experience with Customer Service and I did not like it.  Most of the times I was mistreated because of my accent.

But for me my worst job was the one I left about 2 years ago (I worked there for 15 years but the last 3 years got really bad).  Micro Management, boss that was very mean to me, the only female on the group, would call me "Her Highness", Monthly meetings were all to talk about how bad of a job I was doing, I had a co-worker that felt the need to check everything I did and tell the Manager about MY errors, the others would do the same errors, but they were never told on.

The office environment was so toxic that I was getting sick.  The day I found me the new job was the best of my life. Now I am free of the toxicity of the office and my new job is very chill.  Love it

This. Although, in my experience, part of that was my fault due to communication issues but it doesn't make it right to be rude back.

Though I will say any job where one isn't the boss is the worst job to have because one leaves oneself open to the actions of some horrid person that couldn't care less how they treat you because of this power they have over you.

I didn't like working at the laundromat touching other people's dirty clothes. Smelling it was worse.

Working at Disney was the worst job, people think that if they complain about anything, made-up or not, that Disney will give them compensation... it is not a pleasant work environment, despite the beauty of the park, the backstage areas were horrible & smelled and the pay was a joke. Worst day to work was on Christmas - believe it or not, when the people who went there were so miserable they took it out on the Disney employees.

Hi there! :) :D

I mean a couple years ago when you asked me what was my worst job I would have a really large list to greet you. Nevertheless after working hard to build my business to the way I want and doing many jobs earning to just have my bills take my hard earn money. Made me realize no job is bad as long as it pays. :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:

I would have to disagree.  Some jobs are much better than others.  I have had jobs that I absolutely hated.  And jobs that I liked.  The one job that comes to mind for me, yes it paid the bills, but I hated everything about it. And I would say was probably the worst job I have ever had in my life.

I worked in a factory for 3 days while in college.  It was so mundane.  I couldn't handle the mindless work.  I need something that engages my brain and requires mental effort.
Funny how life changes, I was just thinking today how much I like doing these surveys, because it's mundane mindless work and I don't even need to think to get paid.

How can you give honest thought out answers to the surveys if you do not even think and are just mundanely clicking just to get paid.

Simple, that statement only applies to the 95% where I don't qualify, so thinking is unnecessary.

I would think going door to door for anything would not be a good experience. People do not want to be bothered and they don't want strangers coming to their door interrupting what they are doing. Or wanting to come in to their homes. I don't answer my door if I don't know who is on the other side. I usually do not even acknowledge them. Sometimes I will ask what they want. Some woman came to the door a few years ago claiming to be selling magazine subscriptions to pay for her college LOL.  Uh huh.

In todays times the love of the greater # has cooled off so it would be harder to go door to door.

People dont even wanna answer their phones let alone answer their door.

Funny how i could remember being able to walk the streets at night and never locking your door at night.

Critical times hard to deal with was told long ago and they have been here.

Have no fear.Trump will MAGA!!LOL!!

BTW,i love my job and can do it forever.

I never had a job I hated and I've had a few non-thinking jobs but when I did, I would challenge myself to do more than the day before. IOW, I worked at a bearing manufacturer. I had the hardest machines because my hands were small and there was one machine that no one could produce more than 2500 bearings a shift. These bearings were solid by they had to go into the press in a certain way, which meant flipping them. I would do 5,000 a night. Another machine were weird shaped, reminded me of vases but they had to go in the machine on their neck, not the round vase bottom. Challenging - got stuck on that one every week.  I did get bored after 2 years and quit. :D

I don't think of these as "the worst" jobs ever, but detassling corn, picking rocks, chopping thistles, baling hay and walking beans were definitely labor intensive, hot and cold, sometimes wet, sometimes back breaking jobs.  However, since most of those were just part of living on a farm, I consider them as part of the great years on the farm.  We did most of these as a family so we worked hard together.  I have fond memories of these "jobs".

In fact, if my farmer neighbor needs help, I gladly drive the tractor and baler for him as he loads the square bales onto the hayrack.  I enjoy it!

I am sure that for many the worst job is their first job. Often the first job is chosen simply to earn some pocket money. This can be an operator in a call center, a waiter, an ad poster, and so on. These professions require constant contact with strangers, which greatly affects the mental state of a person. Many people cannot stand in such areas of work for a long time, as they get mentally tired. In the case of waiters, they also get tired physically. I don't think that ordinary visitors at least once in their lives thought about how many kilometers a waiter travels in one day (Spoiler - more than 20 km). For me, my worst job is my internship at the university. I was sent to a company where I did not want to go. There I was not immediately liked and the attitude was very bad. When it came to setting up the server, experienced IT people tried to constantly interfere with me (they thought that I would not notice ...). Since I was only in my second year, I did not know many things, so I had to turn to the professionals. I turned to amasty.com (https://amasty.com/magento-services.html) for help, and after they helped me deal with the server, I immediately left this company ... It was a terrible time that I don't want to remember :(

I worked in customer service for over 30 years with a local government.  People are so hard to deal with.  If they don't get their way, then you are rude.  Most of the time the reason they can't get their way is because they don't follow the rules and think that they can have whatever they want.  I think everyone should have to work in customer service at least for a little while and see what you have to put up with from people.  Maybe then they would not be such a pain in the butt.

Good post, jhanson. People who grow up on farms are absolutely the bestest people ever. I had a feeling you were pretty great just judging by your posts. You understand that hard work never killed anybody. Plus it makes you feel good and sleep well.  :notworthy:

Taxi driver. It's a too annoying job. I know from my own experience how terrible this job is. You never know who your customers will be or how they will behave in the car. Sometimes people were very arrogant. It was very unpleasant. I am glad that I no longer work as a taxi driver and I do not have to face such an attitude towards myself. Now I have a thriving business. I provide grooming services for pets and my salon is even in the list of best offers San Diego (https://www.bestofferssd.com/). It's very nice when your services are considered one of the best in San Diego. By the way, after my services appeared on this list I got 2 times more clients! So do not ever despair and if you do not like your job, then change it and never give up)
