The first dog to succumb to the corona virus died July eleventh after his owners had him euthanized. After being sick for several months (since mid-April) he was struggling to breathe, losing weight, and was sleeping more and more. The dog was taken to several vetrinarians, subjected to medical interventions, steroids, heart medications and finally tested for CoVid on May fifteenth. .The New York City Department of Health called the family on June second to to inform them that their dog had Covid. Pets do not appear to be easily infected by the virus and there is no evidence that animals can transmit the disease to humans. This information came from the National Geographic and USA Today. I would be crushed if my pups contracted CoVid.

The dog also had lymphoma, which is fairly common in German Shepherds. My guess is the lymphoma made the dog more susceptible to Covid infection.

Honestly I never knew this was possible. A dog that can tell you basicly you have covid or not amazing. The german shepard comment just makes me miss my dog scrappy.

I hadn't heard that I wonder it's true.

Actually, I saw dogs being trained to sniff out covid on TV.  I forget where it was.  I think it was in Europe.  Knowing the sensitivity of dogs' noses and what they have been trained to detect, I think this might be something that can be done.
