Every year, it seems like the same thing happens with the California wildfires.
I wish they could find a workable solution that all could agree on. :-\

We lived in CA for a while and can't imagine what they are going through. It is a big state, but the news maps make it look like half the state is on fire. :o

i live in the othere part of the country but from what ii see on the news it looks really bad for you

Colorado is getting hit pretty bad as well. We had ash, supposedly coming from California prior to our Grizzly Creek fire. Visibility and air quality over the last five weeks has been awful. Friday we had another fire pop up that covers over thirty four thousand acres. My wife, daughter and I went out for dinner Saturday evening and had to cover our glasses to keep the ash from building up. My black car was almost white from the ashes. I am hoping that yesterday's snow storm managed to slow the fire down a bit. The snow accumulation was between three to eight inches in different areas. The fire was closer to the mountains which means it probably got hit with higher amounts of snow. Experts have said that the heat can be contained under the snow for a few days so time will tell.

I'm in Southern California, & the sky is orange & brown. Weather thankfully has cooled down & the winds aren't as bad as they expected. Also thankful that the fire isn't too close to my home & so far we don't have to evacuate.
California created it's own problems with the fires, environmental people have been warning the government of California about the impending threat of devastation due to their continual deforestation, didn't matter nothing has been done. Trees matter in preventing climate change & having clean air. We have massive amounts of homeless people who start fires, every year the same thing -- some are known arsonists that keep being let out. We have a big fire now due to explosives at a gender reveal party, fireworks & explosives are illegal due to fire hazards for a reason. Doesn't stop people, not enough cops to enforce laws. Need more social workers, I guess.
Then we can get into our utility company that provides electricity, PG&E, that has aging wires that are causing fires so they literally have to turn off electricity to hundreds of thousands of people -- during a heat wave. It's clown world in California.

I hope they can get the fires under control. I feel so bad for those that have lost their homes.

This seems to be a problem in California every year. Usually the fires are caused by either lightning strikes or people doing stupid things when they know that the situation could cause major fires.

The one fire was caused by a gender neutral party with fireworks or some kind of rockets they set off. How stupid was that?
It's awful to have to go through that and all the people losing homes and ow some lives lost. Evacuating campers from the parks by helicopter because the fires are burning so fast. Sad.

My brother in law lives there. He sent us some pictures of the sky on his way to work this morning. It is crazy looking.

So very sad!

There are very big and bad fires happening in 14 of the western states. Some of them are the worst fires they have seen in decades (or forever). Many of the fires were started by lightning strikes last weekend in some bad storms. It is so crazy that we had record temps (121) last weekend and then it has dropped by 35 - 40 degrees during the week. When the Santa Ana winds are blowing at 50 - 60 mph the fires are nearly impossible to stop.
God bless are firemen and other first responders.

West Coast fires are very tragic...so many structures completely destroyed,
so many lives lost!
-
the fires seem so much worse this year.Hope they can get the fires under control soon.
Hope everyone stays safe! :rose: :rainbow: :peace:

It's terrible this year. I don't even live in Cali but my skies are gray and the sun is red right now due to the gender reveal fire.

It's not just California. I moved from Simi Valley (near LA) California to Portland Oregon and today we have over a Million Acres burned this fire season and it's still going. Smoke has cut visibility to 1 mile and whole towns are removed from the map. I hate to say it, but more is coming every year.

I work with someone living in northern california and they said that the sky is red most of the time from the fires and they cannot go outside because of all the smoke. Hope you all get some rain some time soon.

This year is worse, because the governor is irresponsible with money, so he just keeps raising taxes every time people move out and robs peter to pay paul. All his money from prevention went to sanctuary cities. He's failing just like every Liberal governor and mayor. People, If someone can't balance their own checkbook, don't give them yours to spend. Duh!

I'm currently in SoCal and the skies have been hazy for at least a week.
-
A crazy situation for sure....I have seen some of the pictures....WOW!!!
-
The fires are such an awful thing and now they are spreading.

The worst part is the air quality in Portland, Oregon (where I live) is 406 out of 500 and considered hazardous to go out into. It looks like a heavy fog if you peer outside.
