Has anyone sold anything on EBay? I have purchased things before. I have also had someone fraudulently sell something on my account several years ago and I think they still have a two cent balance on my account. I lost a hubcap on one of our cars. Seven months ago I went through the dealer to get a new hubcap and it ended up costing over seventy dollars. Last week I noticed that one of my hub caps is cracked. I discovered that I can get four new hubcaps (cool looking upgrades) from Walmart for about forty dollars. I thought I would list my other three original hubcaps on Ebay which would more than pay for the new hubcaps. I also found a Tiffany sterling silver necklace that I would like to get rid of. I don't think that either of these things can be sold on amazon. Ebay seems like the right venue. Anybody had any luck?

I have never sold anything or bought anything on eBay. No, I don't think Amazon does the yard sale type thing although you can sell used stuff on there. I am sure if you list it somebody will buy it.

I used to sell a lot of stuff on Ebay years ago (did pretty well too) but since they raised their seller fees and everything I haven't done any selling (just occasional buying)

I did some research into Ebay selling yesterday (specifically about selling without PayPal) and there was a lot of disturbing comments about them online. I would be careful.

eBay is a popular and safe platform. They have been around for years. They are also safe. You just have to be careful about who you purchase from. I would check out sellers and see what their rating is. But eBay itself it safe to use.

I had looked at it before and the thing that caught my eye was the unreal amount of fees charged.

There are benefit's to selling on Ebay & Amazon but there also drawbacks to. Certain items sell better one site than they do on the other. You could make a killing on both sites if you know what your doing & how to go about it. But its also good idea to know whats in demand. You be surprised how much vintage and retro items have been selling during covid say like video game consoles and games of older consoles to old radios and vcr's. When it comes down to it demand is key. I've bought off both sites and sold on ebay before just not much & only things i knew would sell.

You can't even find a VCR any more. A lot of people still have the tapes and would purchase these even used. But if you have a smart TV and try to hook a VCR up to it there is a chance it is not going to work. A friend tried to do this and she said it would not play. And she got an error message about it not being compatible. She contacted support and they told her the VCR was too old and she would not be able to play the tapes on the TV. It also could have just been that specific TV.

I just found a vcr on ebay a second after i searched it through google. If you ever watched someone named Craigslist Hunter on youtube you find out people will sometimes hoard or put away what we consider old electronics to never be used. Pretty much new electronics at the time being bought but rarely if ever used and just stored away. You just need to know where to find the stuff. Sometimes garage sales seem to have them. Old storage places to. Attics & basements of older houses. A lot of people bought more then one of the same item back in the day as a backup. The same could be said for old game systems and games with a lot of other things

There are pages of VCR to DVD conversion systems on Amazon and if nothing else, I know Amazon is very good about taking back anything that does not work.

I have given some thought to selling on but it sounds like it is not as easy as I thought it would be. I guess I will have to jump in and try it for myself. I will have to start studying it and looking at video and find out what is selling best. Thanks for the suggestion and info.

No, however, I know of a few relatives who have. I do not know how they do it on a regular basis, especially since a few friends of mine were former sellers, but stated that the process is an absolute pain in the you-know-what.

I've never sold anything on ebay, but it's the place I choose to buy from when there's no other place that sells what I want. Satisfaction on this end up to this point. :icon_rr:

We still use our player to see DVDs and VHS tapes both. I'm glad there's still someone else who does this, pstovall. We're holdouts from a bygone era and proud of it. Right? :highfive:

Hi! Yes, I have both bought and sold items on Ebay for over 5 years. In all the time I've used it I have had only positive experiences. I'd recommend reading the seller feedback when purchasing from people and to make sure they post pictures of the actual items they're selling. Selling is fairly easy as well. You can choose the type of listing you want to create and how you want to ship your item. :thumbsup:
