Post by: ktheodos on December 14, 2020, 06:11:26 pm
They announced earlier that they will change the team name.....following in the steps of other teams like the Redskins who have pursued similar changes....

smh.     ::) ::) ::)
Not a fan of the Indians (or the Redskins), but much more of a fan of both of their former team names than I am of this ridiculous cancel culture.

I just got this notice:

Redskins Drop Offensive Name

Dan Snyder, owner of the NFL Redskins, has announced that the team is dropping "Washington" from the team name, and it will henceforth be simply known as, "The Redskins."

It was reported that he finds that the word "Washington" imparts a negative image of poor leadership, mismanagement, corruption, cheating, lying andgraft and is not a fitting role-model for young fans of football!

The Washington  deletion of redskins without a replacement name was kind of silly. I loved Chief Wahoo on the Indian's baseball jersey. So much, in fact, I ordered the baseball jersey before they took his image off. Double win now that they are taking the name off as well. I have talked to all of my Blackhawks fans and they seem to think that the Blackhawks emblem is sacred and will last through all of this. I have ordered a Blackhawks jersey just in case-seems the writing is on the wall. I have an old Milwaukee Braves jersey. I would think that the Braves name will have to be deleted as well. I understand both sides of the story but I think that it is a very small percentage of native americans that care. I have read that the reservations get a large sum of cash in subsidies for names pertaining to indians.

Not a Redskin fan either,instead of playing anthem before the game maybe they should smoke a peace pipe.

Ya know it wasnt too long ago the players were getting crushed for kneeling and i heard many say after the Kaepernick saga they would boycott NFL.

Whats next?The beer is too flat.

BTW im a Bears fan and would give Kaepernick a shot to compete for QB.
