Absolutely love driving stick shift. Just bought a new Subaru, requested stick shift and found that it was fifteen hundred dollars cheaper. Apparently less than ten percent of Americans know how to drive stick so the resale value is lower. I just hand the cars to my kids and let them worry about reselling the vehicles. Hasn't happened yet as they usually burn out the engine or crash the cars. I have a nineteen sixty five jeep CJ (I call her Iron Maiden) that has two stick shifts (one is for overdrive, or, an extra half gear). It requires the clutch to be double pumped in order to down gear into first gear. Both kids learned on that car. I live in Colorado and have only put the hard top on twice. I have put the bikini top on when it rains but pretty much leave her topless. My wife has a little sports car that has the paddle shift.

I can not drive a stick shift. I would not mind trying to learn one day because you never know if you may be in a situation where you need to drive a stick shift.
-
Absolutely (it's what I learned on) and still prefer it.
-
No, I definitely do not know how to drive a stick shift.
-
I learned how to drive on a stick, but I haven't driven one since, so I'm not sure. ???
-
Yes. My first two cars that I bought were sticks. I bought my first car and didn't even know how to drive it so I drove my mother's car and she drove mine until I learned. My current car isn't a total stick but I can drive it as one but I haven't done it yet

I Never could get the hang of it. I do not have any problems when driving the tractor, I think that is because no traffic behind me honking.
-
Yes, my pickup truck is a stick shift. I haven't driven an automatic in years.
-
Wanted to learn, but never had anyone willing to teach me. Although dh taught ds.
-
Yes!
-
Those were the good old days, driving stick shift, now we are moving to driverless cars...
-
Yes, my hubby taught me but I don't like it. Give me an automatic. All that shifting gears and clutch work is not my cup of tea.
-
No and never want to attempt to drive a stick shift.
-
I can drive one, but I would prefer not to.
-
Yes, I learned to drive on my boyfriends stick shift Mustang.
-
Yep, that's how I learned to drive at 16. Am I old?
-
I learned to drive with a stick shift. I prefer to drive an automatic.
-
growing up my parents and brother drove stick shifts. I drive with hand controls so i need an automatic. Even if i could i won't drive a stick. :rose: :rainbow: :peace:

Of course, when we were young my parents made it a must to know. Except my sister, she didnt want to drive anything, let alone a stick.
-
I took my drivers test on a stick shift and that is what i would prefer. My wide cannot drive a stick shift so we usually stick with the automatic when we buy a car.
-
I don't know for sure that I can't drive one because I've never tried, but at this moment- no. I'd like to try one day though.

I've wanted to learn how to ride a motorcycle for a few years now.
Nope but I can shift on a motorcycle  8)
