I cant say much even thou they have like 95 years in difference. My hubby and I are 37 years apart. We love each other and have a daughter that will be 2 next month. So i am happy for this happy couple.

Look at it like this, the old guy will probably kick the bucket any time now and she will be free to go off and find herself a new man. I wonder if she will pick a man closer to her age the next time, that is if she gets to choose for herself. I think her husband was probably picked for her by her family. Arranged marriages are still predominant in those areas of the world, and a big part of normal life.

Well, in America---Just about the only a young person would marry someone that old would be for money, BUt if he has other living childern and ex wives, the new wife would not get much, IF ANYTHING.

When people get married in different tribes over there, Its usually for the benefit of both families, like one family gets something from the other from the marriage a trade of good faith between the two families. It can even stop tribes separated for centuries as enemies from feuding, like a truce. Its not like marriages here in america-completely different. Yes in their cuture you are allowed to have more than one wife at a time. From the sounds of it he now has 2 wives.
Age should not matter in a relationship or marriage. As for me I can not see being with some one who i that much older than I am.

Whatever her reasons were, it was her choice. Taking that the entire article was true, you have to respect the guy for not touching her until she was old enough and also, he didn't force her but asked her. I do find it strange that he was looking at a girl that was no more than a child, but it's the culture we've been born in. We've been brought up in a culture that's all about physical and if we don't choose what is a norm we're suddenly gold diggers or a horny old guy.

I would never marry a man with another wife nor a man that could be my great granddaddy, and at 17, WOW. At 17 I don't understand how you can even be attracted to someone that old, all the lose skin and other health issues just because of age I would think would be repulsing for a such a fresh young girl.
