I don't think you should respect everyone's opinion.

Some people think the earth is flat or 6,000 years old. I'm supposed to respect that?

I would say you dont have to respect the opinion itself..but respect that it is THEIR opinion which they are entitled to have no matter how BassAckwards it may seem.

Lastly, not everyone who believes in God is a Christian..so is your beef with them as well? Or simply with those who believe in Christ?
Do you scorn Buddhists, Jewish, African Traditionalist etc. etc. the same?

Nope.  Just religions which are doing harm...and the front runners are Christianity and Islam.  (P.S.  Buddhists don't believe in god...fact check!)

I don't see the religion doing the harm... it's the dummies that hide behind it and use it as an excuse...not all Christians or Muslims do that. (PS. Double Back Fact check..some sects do believe in gods and divinities...and an after life.  Pure Land Buddhism comes to mind...though not monotheistic they do ***Believe*** but technically since they don't believe in one God..I'll give you that one....reluctantly)

When I'm choosing to be here to get paid to post, how exactly is it wasting my time?  lol

Well after your 30th post you're no longer being paid for it.....not until next month anyway! SO I suppose it depends on if after you reach post 30 whether or not you remain silent....lol

Off-Topic / Re: Gay Marriage

I don't believe the government should have anything to do with Marriage that is a religious concept. The Government is only involved for legal and tax purposes. I believe the State should offer everyone civil unions. If you want your civil union to be called a marriage find a religious institution that will preform the religious ceremony for you. But as far as the state is concerned They should not be marrying anyone, but only providing the legal documents necessary to register the legal civil union between two people. People are two caught up in labels.  :BangHead:
couldn't agree more! marriage is a religious thing and state should have never got mixed in it...I'm for civil unions though. To each their own!

My dad used to order infomercial stuff all the time when I was growing up. Some of it's pretty cool, some is just crap.  :cat:
what kind of stuff? I mean what products do you think are cool vs crappy? I bought an "Ultimate Chopper" years ago and I still use it! It's awesome. I don't even know if they still make it....

What I usually do is simply ignore the stupid, cruel or otherwise negative comments. I'm not being paid to read them! LOL.

lol too funny cause I do the same thing! If I started the thread though and someone is rude, depending on where I posted it, rudeness can be expected. IE. Off-Topic and especially Debate and Discuss
I totally agree. Some topics are just magnets for rudeness. Like politics and religion!

wow. A lot of people wearing only black socks. Reminds me of a song I learned in gradeschool :

"Black socks they never get dirty...the longer you wear them the stronger they get! Sometimes I think I should launder them ...something inside me says dont wash 'em yet...not yet..not yet..not yet"
 ;D

Ah yes.  The classic non-argument: "Christianity isn't a religion, it's a RELATIONSHIP!!!"

Uh-huh.

[/quote]
For starters I never said I was a Christian..you just assumed as much... Secondly...as in any other religion there are "traditionalist" , "not-traditionalists" etc etc. and the more "traditional" believers seem to be the ones who are usually more than a few crayola's short of a box (my opinion)
Lastly, not everyone who believes in God is a Christian..so is your beef with them as well? Or simply with those who believe in Christ?
Do you scorn Buddhists, Jewish, African Traditionalist etc. etc. the same?

Whatever works for you I guess. Seems like an awful lot of time wasted trying to convince people that what they believe is wrong...good luck with that...

If you don't believe in a God, and I do...why does it bother you so much? Absence of evidence is not Evidence of absence...

Absence of Evidence is NOT Evidence of Absence...  ***crickets***

Quoting and arguing with yourself?  ***crickets***

LOL LOL LOL. Not arguing with anyone. Just felt like repeating myself... LOL LOL LOL.
All of this free entertainment :-) ...
There must be a GOD (who by the way has an excellent sense of humor) :angel11: ;D :angel11:

So you dont believe in God and I do. Different strokes I suppose.

I think that most of this thread is really about being  RELIGIOUS. .. which is differnt from beleiving in God, Allah (whatever name ) anyway.

I'm a fan of True Blood, though I prefer the earlier seasons. I think they're packing in too much stuff now into each episode and the quality is suffering.

I agree. I think they are introducing too many "creatures".  Were-leopards??? whats next???

I wish Ann Rice's "Vampire Chronicles" would have been made into a series. Those books were AWESOME!!!!  :notworthy:
