I have several.  When I was growing up I had an Aunt and Uncle send me a $2 bill every birthday.  For some reason, I never spent them and still have them.

Both.  I have grown up around all animals: cats, dog, horse, hampsters, ect.  Cats are great because they are independent; take care of themselves. They are also very playful and get into everything.  Dogs are great partners, and need lots of attention.
