We went on a vacation to visit family in Maine, it was nice to visit.  Was planning on a short vacation next month but things have gotten crazy with things that need to get done so we will have to pass on the vacation next month maybe in the fall.

Off-Topic / Re: Do You Still Use a Phonebook?

I have not used a phonebook for the purpose of phone numbers for years.  It is much easier to look on line.  I find that the books end up in the recycling and not used.

Off-Topic / Re: do you cook from scratch

I love to cook from scratch but I sometimes find that I don't have the time, so I have now started making things a head of time and freezing them.  I also have been teaching my son the importance of cooking from scratch and using fresh ingredients.

That is a big one.  Something what we did for my mom and dad was we had everyone from the family over with everyone to bring something to eat. We also had someone write a note about what they remembered over the years.  and put that into a book

I like to use coupons when I can but sometimes it does not work out for what I want.  I use them to save so when I purchase my veggie and fruit it helps with the prices of those.  I find that I need to save on the other things so that I can purchase what I want.

We do recycle some of the bottles but i would like to learn how to do more.  I will use the bottles return that I can but would like to try to do something with all the other things that we have to recycle because like stated above the company that we use puts everything into one container.

I hope that everyone is having a great day.  We had corn beef and cabbage for lunch, along with stuffed cabbage.  Had family over so it made it nice to spend time with family.

I put mine in a can and when the can gets full I put it in the garbage.  I would like to find something else to do with it but have not found a way to recycle it.  I have looked to find different things to do so that I could recyle buy have not found anything around

Debate & Discuss / Re: earning money

I think that it is like everything else in life you have to work at it but I have to agree with above you are not going to get rich.  It is a great way to earn a little cash to do extra things or pay a bill.  Today every little bit that you can make counts for something.  I know that I try to go on every day and get refereals.  I don't do real good with the referreals I will just have to keep trying when it comes to these.  Good luck.

I think it is great that we have a new Pope.  I am not really religious but I know that some people count on their religion to get thru the day.  I know that it was a great educaitonal thing for the children to see how it is done, I think it is something some think of as a postive thing and in a time when we are only hearing negitive.

Off-Topic / Re: do you think kids should go to court?
« on: March 16, 2013, 02:20:42 pm »Message ID: 705491
I have to agree with something that was said above, things were different when I was growing up.  I have a Seventeen year old son, I am very lucky that he has stayed out of trouble and has a good head on his shoulders.  But I hear him talking about things that happen in school or have seen were other kids have gotten in trouble, things that would have landed us in a great deal of trouble with the courts and our parents.  Now a days children are not made accountable for anything they do.  As far as going to court maybe if some of them went and had to pay something for the things they did or see what can happen if you don't do what is correct.
