Off-Topic / Re: So what you did today??
« on: June 29, 2012, 10:00:50 am »Message ID: 562432
Got up and Thanked God I was able to get up!   I got online and sent hubby an email, applied for a few jobs and then ran the vacuum cleaner, got dressed, went to visit my mom, to the farmers market, the bank, the post office and to the grocery store.  WOW .... now I came home strung some green beans and put them on to cook.  Now I am browsing and getting ready to pack an overnight bag because I am going to visit my nephew who had a stroke a month ago..... We are going to spend the night and get up and maybe shop a little before coming home.

Off-Topic / Greeting cards ... halmark ?
« on: June 29, 2012, 09:49:00 am »Message ID: 562424
When you buy a greeting card do you look for a certain brand like halmark?  American Greetings etc?   My favorite is Dayspring so I really try hard to buy those but if not I go with the old standby Halmark.

Off-Topic / What is your favorite hair product?

I need a GOOD texturizer that doesn't make your hair feel sticky.  I was using the retro hair blowdry lotion but can no longer find it..... I guess I may have to order online but the shipping charges are crazy!

I am going tomorrow to visit my niece's husband that had a stroke while they were out of the country on vacation.  He is in a rehab hospital and still paralyzed in his left arm.  He is making some progress but I'm just not sure what to expect

I Thank God for another day of life before I get out of the bed.  I usually get a cup of coffee and sit down at the computer and check my etsy store .... then sign on to my other sights and do a little browsing before getting dressed and ready to tackle whatever project I have for the day.  My project right now is to find a real job so I am constantly applying online for something.

I read this a quote a while back and it really stuck with me .....  It actually from the song THE ROSE by Bette Midler

“It's the heart afraid of breaking that never learns to dance. It is the dream afraid of waking that never takes the chance. It is the one who won't be taken who cannot seem to give. And the soul afraid of dying that never learns to live.” :peace:  :peace:

How wonderful.  I love to hear stories where Good People get some press instead of all the bad things.  I always try to do the right thing too but if she doesn't find the owner maybe it is God's way of bringing something good to her life.  A blessing .... I have had many of those in my life.

Off-Topic / Re: Have anyone heard about Magic Jack device?
« on: June 12, 2012, 04:25:25 am »Message ID: 552013
My sister uses Magic Jack in her home and it works but she does have a lot of problems with it.  My parents use to have it also .... both I am speaking of is the old type that has to have the computer on.  It slowed my Dad's computer down so bad that it wasn't worth having.... After Dad passed away mom has done away with that and just has the regular land line.  I have been tempted to try the newer version but haven't so far.

I love GOING to yard sales but not so much having them.   I use to enjoy it but now it just seems like a LOT of work.  I did recently have one for two days.  It was mostly my mother in-law that wanted to have the sale ... at my home because of our location.  She did great !!  made around $400 - $500 but I only managed to get around $68.  But it was $68 more than I had before and I got to get rid of a bunch of junk in my house  ;D

I love homemade soups too!!!

I make my own noodles and broth for my chicken noodle soup .... SO  GOOD!!!!!!   I make a lot of different soups like vegetable, Potato Soup, Corn Chowder, Chicken Vegetable, Orzo and Chicken ..... that is my favorite thing about cold weather is a good excuse for a hot bowl of soup with some fresh cornbread or thick chewy bread.
