Off-Topic / Re: Health question for females?
« on: February 10, 2011, 07:46:22 pm »Message ID: 312521
Sorry to hear that you are having health problems not to mention the fact that you have not had a period for a while. One thing your symptoms may point to is pelvic inflammatory disease. It is very painful and can cause all the symptoms you are experiencing. If left untreated it may cause infertility so it is a good idea to have it checked out by a gynocologist. Don't accept a "theres nothing wrong with you" answer and push to get to the bottom of your symptoms. Good luck.

Off-Topic / Re: Superbowl Commercials
« on: February 09, 2011, 07:04:39 pm »Message ID: 311945
The commercials this year were very disappointing in my opinion. Last years were so much better and funnier. I was kind of bummed since I watch the superbowl and look forward to the commercials (it's the only time I don't fast forward the commercials). I did like the Doritos dog, that one was really cute, and the Chevy one. Oh well there is always next year.

Off-Topic / Re: phony, I almost lose thousands of dollars

Sorry that this has happened to you. Internet scams are on the rise and ripping more people off than ever before. Simple rules to follow that will keep you from getting scammed are:
1. If it sounds too good to be true, it's a scam
2. Use paypal or other payment sources that protect you from being ripped off
3. Don't accept personal checks or money orders
4. Don't give out your credit card number unless you are familiar with the site and the dealer is reputable
5. Never cash a check that requires you to send money back to the sender
One good thing about what happened to you is that you didn't cash the check and you caught on to the scam quickly.

Off-Topic / Re: Will Obama be relected?

I would rather vote for Mickey Mouse than that moron. Another 4 years under Obama's rule will only destroy the country as we know it. I like my freedom and want to keep it that way. American's need to stand up and fight for their rights and take back America. Why give some self absorbed, power hungry communist a second chance? He had his chance and blew it big time.

Off-Topic / Re: Groundhog Predicts EARLY SPRING!
« on: February 02, 2011, 07:16:05 pm »Message ID: 308418
I really hope Phil is right and that we get an early spring. It is hard to believe that an early spring is possible with the blizzards, ice, and freezing temps. We had a blizzard yesterday and today and looks like we got over a foot of snow. I am sick and tired of the cold and I am looking forward to spring. Please don't disappoint me Phil.

Debate & Discuss / Re: Police: Ohio man forced woman to abortion clinic

Ok, now thats disturbing to me. I don't care who you are, how many kids you have, or what planet your from, nobody has the right to force anyone to do something they don't want to do. Obviously this guy is a nut job and very disturbed. Why would he go to such extremes? What was the driving force? One thing is for sure, he will be spending alot of time behind bars contemplating his actions, that is if he has any remorse at all. Something tells me he probably doesn't.

I guess it means just what it says, you are banned from the site. Maybe at one point you were a member and something happened that ended up with you being banned, who knows? If it's an error, try and contact Gambit administrators and ask them whats up. They should be able to look into it for you and give you the answers you need to sort this mess out. Good luck to you.

I guess the reason why they call it a dream home is because it is just that, a dream home. There can be only one winner and we all wish it was us. I have seen this years' home and it is gorgeous. I am not sure if  would like to live in Vermont, but the house would make it all worth it. I wonder what the taxes would be on it, lol.

Off-Topic / Re: What do you think of Oprahs channel OWN??
« on: January 23, 2011, 07:49:50 pm »Message ID: 303093
I miss the Discovery Health Channel. Ever since OWN took over, all I see is Oprah here, Oprah there, Oprah everywhere. You might as well say the whole channel is devoted to her. The channel needs more content other than Oprah and her pal Gayle King. I used to watch all the medical shows on it, and I see that some of the old shows are still there and I still watch them, but the reality crap needs to go. And whats with the movies on it too? I hate it.

Off-Topic / Re: Do you print or copy off recipes from the internet?
« on: January 22, 2011, 10:17:40 am »Message ID: 302351
I print recipes off the internet all the time, and actually use the recipes to help me create great meals. There have been times when I was looking for a particular recipe I found myself scanning various websites in search of the perfect recipe. I love BBC America, epicurious and Sparkpeople sites, they have a wealth of great recipes that I print all the time. Of course you can't forget FC in the paid to click section all the great recipes there are worthy of being printed and kept for future use.

Off-Topic / Re: Have you seen the show "extreme couponing"?
« on: January 22, 2011, 09:51:35 am »Message ID: 302337
I saw the show and was completely amazed at the extremes some people go through to save money. I most definitely would not have the time to do what the extreme couponers do. I use coupons for things I need when I get them, but don't get the sunday newspaper for the sake of coupons, or dumpster dive for them either. That to me is going over the top. I commend the folks that go through extremes to stockpile and save money on their grocery bills.

Debate & Discuss / Re: Prison Opinions. Cash Cow or Re-habilitation
« on: January 21, 2011, 05:54:38 pm »Message ID: 302072
People make choices that affect their lives and the lives of others every day. Criminals are no different. They choose to go out and commit crimes for whatever reasons (excuses) they have. There are many people out there abandoned by a parent as a child living productive lives and never commit crimes. Inmates don't take responsibility for their actions, they just make excuses for what they have done and in my opinion is a cop-out. I worked as a corrections officer for 8 years in the prison system and have seen inmates shun counseling and help that was handed to them on a silver platter. Inmates are also notorious for being the biggest manipulators of people with kind hearts. I have seen this all too often in the prison system. Rehabilitation starts with an inmate and they will not be rehabilitated until they decide they want to change their lives.

Off-Topic / Re: what kind of exercise do you do?
« on: January 21, 2011, 05:34:43 pm »Message ID: 302067
I keep my exercise routine simple and free. First of all I workout at home so I don't have to fork out money for a gym. Secondly I use cans and gallon water bottles as my weights for strenght training, and thirdly I turn the music up nice and loud and dance for an hour to my favorite tunes. I am constantly on the move throughout the day so I take 3 or 4 stretch breaks as well. I try to work out 5 to 6 days a week and love it. I feel good and thats what matters.

Off-Topic / Re: Marriage before moving in?
« on: January 14, 2011, 07:20:19 pm »Message ID: 299202
Don't get married for the sake of getting married or to please your family. Do whats right for you and your boyfriend. You both are still young and have your whole life ahead of you. Move into a nice little apartment and save up for a small wedding later on down the road, if marraige is want you both want. Take your time and make sure that marraige is what you want. I waited 7 years to get married and my wedding was a very small get together in my best friends back yard. I wouldn't change that for anything, not for the stress of arranging a wedding and the cost.

Debate & Discuss / Re: cna classes
« on: January 13, 2011, 07:23:57 pm »Message ID: 298812
Check out your local hospitals, most offer CNA classes for free and will hire you when you complete the training. The hospitals here in Maine do this and also certify you too. You can go online and search your hospital websites or call them for more information. They can send you information packages filled with information to help you on your way. Check out your local community colleges, maybe a career as a Medical Assistant is more suited to you and most offer financial aid to get you through college. Hope this helps you.
