CONGRATULATIONS (see, I CAN spell!) on having your first be a baby boy!  What fun!  Little boys are so busy all the time (once they get mobile) so start training for your marathon after you give birth 'cuz you are going to need to have speed to catch him once he starts crawling and walking!  You must post a picture of him when you are ready.  I had a little ginger headed boy I named Henry.  He was such a joy as a baby and so busy as a toddler and little kid.  Teenage years are rough for anyone so cherish those pre-teen times!  And, they really do grow so fast!  It seems just yesterday my son was born and now he's 21, in the military and learning to make his own way in the world.  I think babies are the best thing in the entire world because they just bring out the love in everyone!  I can't pass a little baby without stopping to ask about it and coo over it.  Being pregnant is great, isn't it?  Don't you feel so powerful and strong?  I hope you didn't have morning sickness too bad in the beginning.  Do you miss being able to see your feet?  Ha. Ha.  Best of luck.  Can't wait for the good news of his birth!

I meant to say CONGRATULATIONS!  Guess I didn't pay much attention to the spell checker, eh?   :BangHead:

I was born on 08/11/1959 and my older sister was born on 08/11/1957.  My mom had great timing apparently -- either that or my parents had a very serious routine down for reproduction!  My sister actually thought I was her birthday present when I was born!  :)

Happy Chinese New Year to you!  It's unbearable cold here in Lawrence, KS.  I think it's super COLD everywhere this winter across the country.  I only hope there are enough shelters to keep the homeless and very poor warm and fed.

Not so crazy about her.  I think she's overexposed (literally and figuratively) right now.  I think Malik what-s her name from The Watchmen would make a good WW.  :)

OMG!  There are so many....  The King of Queens is one of my all time favorite sitcoms along with Arrested Development, The Office and Friends.  The Middle and Modern Family are hilarious.  I loved Moonlight but it got canceled.  I love True Blood and Vampire Diaries.  I'm so into the vampire and werewolf genres.  I also like Mercy, Grey's Anatomy, Top Chef.   There are just so many darned good shows (past and present).  Hard to choose.

It must be a scary time but you must feel so proud of your husband.  I'm sure the US Marines have a close knit family support system (as does the USAF, which is what I'm more familiar with).  Be supportive and ask for help when you need it from your friends, family (any of your loved ones).  Join a US Marine wife/family forum -- I'm sure there are at least a few of these on the web.  Don't isolate yourself when your husband is deployed away from you.  Remember to reach out to others in the same situation as yourself and stay busy.  Please give your husband a heartfelt thank you for his service to our country.  Also, please accept my heartfelt thank you to YOU for your service to our country as well (as being married to a military man is also a very important service).  Best regards from a former USAF brat, spouse and mother.  :)

I enjoy both.   However, I probably shop more online as it's just so convenient.  And, e-bay is so much fun!  :)

I was lucky enough to have one child (my son).  I always wanted more but it just wasn't in the cards for me.  I would have loved to have had a little girl, too.  :)  However, my son is a terrific young man who just joined the USAF in September 2009.  He's 21 now and we are very proud of him and his commitment to serving his country.  He's coming home for a visit later this month before he heads off to his first duty assignment at Eglin AFB in Fort Walton Beach, FL.  We haven't seen him since he left for basic in September.  We've seen photos and he's changed so much and looks great.  Can't wait to put my arms around him and hold him tight.  His dad will probably have to peel me off of him.  I've missed his so much.  So hard to let them go when they grow up....  :)

The last movie I saw was The Hurt Locker with my husband.  It was a good movie but more to his liking that mine (I'm just not into war movies so much).   However, the movie before that was Avatar and I loved that movie!  It was terrific!

Off-Topic / Re: texting while driving....? do you do it?

Nope.  It takes me forever to text when I'm not driving so trying to do it while driving would probably kill me.  I do use my blue tooth capability to give me hands free functionality with my cell phone while driving, though.  I do think cell phones are a huge and dangerous distraction for any driver but it's so hard not to use it, isn't it?

CONGRATULATIOS!  What an exciting time for you and your family!  Do you know if it's going to be a boy or a girl?  (I never knew until the actual birth and it was such a great surprise to discover a baby boy at the time!)  Cherish this time in your life.  (Being pregnant and giving birth to my son was the single most fantastically awesome thing I've ever done in my entire life!)  It's such a life changing experience.  Very positive experience even with all of the unknowns associated with being a parent.  I wish you and your baby and family the very best.  Please keep us posted on how you are doing and details about your baby.  Very best regards.

1.  Get my diabetes under control and maintain it (Exercise more, eat better, lose weight).
2.  Learn to relax and enjoy life more (which I think will happen as a result of item 1).
3.  Embrace being 50 years old!
