I have been depressed ever since I first started high school.. it felt like everything went wrong at that time.
I refused to go to school and ended up dropping out, but within two weeks I was enrolled in a online private school, or "home schooling." I was also at a mental institution for a few weeks as an out-patient and had group sessions with other kids. That hospital prescribed Lexapro for me and I had been taking it for two years, and just recently I quit taking them. I also quit smoking.
To all those people who are depressed and don't know what to do, shouldn't completely disregard therapy and medication because it does help to an extent. Eventually though, you have to help yourself. You have to want to get better and get other things on your mind, start being more productive and stop caring so much about what people think. That's what helped me.
It's hard, and there were times when I felt like completely giving up, but I'm doing better now, and I hope that everyone who is depressed finds their way and gets better. xx
