Off-Topic / Re: What can I do to make the world a better place to live?

The first thing each of us can do is to find the place of peace within ourselves. When whatever you do comes from that place, it will make the world a better place.

Our weather is directly related to global warming in my opinion--even though so many don't believe it is happening. I think we have worn out our planet.

I use the PayPal debit card as well. Easy to deposit funds from other sites and it is there to use or save.

Off-Topic / Re: SHOULD MOMS PUT THIER OBESE CHILDREN ON A DIET?
« on: April 09, 2012, 08:12:10 am »Message ID: 518066
Obesity is rapidly becoming the number one issue of health in the US. We have been eating processed food more than ever and really cannot trust our food to be healthy any longer. Parents and children become obese because of not only junk food but junk in our food. There is little oversight that benefits us--think of pink slime. We need to take advantage of locally grown food rather than over-processed and genetically engineered food. This is the kind of diet we ALL need and there wouldn't be obese children and adults.

Because of our mild winter and early spring, allergens are especially bad this year. Also many virus's going around that weren't killed off by prolonged low temps.

Off-Topic / Re: Amazon vs. Overstock vs. Ebay which do you use?
« on: April 05, 2012, 04:21:21 pm »Message ID: 516281
Amazon all the way for me. There is hardly anything you can't find there and reading the reviews of products is a real bonus. They've helped me avoid some buying mistakes. I earn lots of Amazon gift cards at other sites and save them for Christmas shopping; paid for the whole Christmas last year. I belong to Amazon Prime which gets me free shipping and also the ability to download books to my Kindle for free. It costs $79 for a year but pays for itself many times over.

Well, a bit of good news as that prices aren't going to go as high as they thought they would. They are already putting a strain on my budget costing $50 to fill up; I don't live an area where I can walk or have public transportation so have no choice. But I do limit my driving and combine several errands when I am out.

I enjoy gardening for  stress relief. Relaxing with a good book helps too to get away from stress.
